About

LL COOL J is a two-time Grammy Award-winning hip-hop icon whose trailblazing career is singular in its longevity and accolades: 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, millions of albums sold, the first rapper to receive a Kennedy Center Honor, successful actor and author, NAACP Image Award winner, co-founder/CEO of the Rock The Bells hip-hop festival and so much more. LL COOL J exploded onto the scene in the 1980s with pioneering hit singles like the rap-rock hybrid “Rock the Bells” and beatbox classics like “I Need a Beat” and “I Need Love.” The rapper’s confrontational, occasionally romantic lyricism would propel the genre to new heights on 1990’s multi-platinum Mama Said Knock You Out. Considered one of rap’s first superstars, LL COOL J has performed on sold-out tours with legends like Run-D.M.C., Janet Jackson and the Beastie Boys.

    Awesome Experience

by Cam on 11/24/23TD Garden - Boston

From the moment the DJ started spinning the music everything was lit. I am 50 and I stood up most of the night. I knew the songs and sang all night. The only issue that I would bring up is security did not assist with making sure everyone was in the correct seats. I sat on the 2nd row and it was several times people came to the row and thought people were in the wrong seats. Several incidents could have been avoided. The show itself was top tier. I am so glad I flew from Florida to see the show. It was a vibe like none other!!

    Bucket list ✔️

by Coppertop on 11/24/23TD Garden - Boston

This show was amazing. Unfortunately boston was the last stop on the tour. Otherwise I'd be buying tickets to another show. Went by very fast three straight hours of performing. Slick Rick, Doug E Fresh, DMC, Queen Latifah. And so many others. I can even remember. Just incredible. My only complaint was the souvenias were blacklustre. Hip-hop has had such an influence on fashion and the t. Shirts that were available were very boring and basic. In fact I couldn't even find a queen latifah t shirt. That bumbed me out a bit. I rxpected better designs because of tge influence hip hoo and rap has had on fashion. I nean, why coukdbt i buy a Kango? They did have two sweatshirts that weren't anything exciting and a light up fake gold chain. Other than that nothing. Every other concert i've been to has had alternative items. These concerts need to bring back things like key chains, mugs, Even a small program of sorts. I was kind of hoping to do a little Christmas shopping while I was there. That didn't happen. Oh well.

    Excellent Show

by Coach Al on 11/23/23TD Garden - Boston

Caught the last stop of the tour in Boston. Took my 17 year old son to his first concert. I'm glad we went. Black Thought and The Roots opened up with a nice set and quickly brought out Doug E Fresh. Doug got the crowd on their feet as he always does, before bringing out Slick Rick. The two of them did their routine before Doug gave the stage to Rick, who went through his hits. Doug came back out and did his new "Shine the Light on em"routine which was dope. The Roots then introduced LL Cool J which was interesting. It was still pretty early. LL immediately showed why he's the GOAT by rocking a bunch of hits non-stop. It was a high energy and intense set including a cameo by DMC from Run-DMC. He rocked "Here We Go"and "It's Tricky"with help from LL and Black Thought. Great to LL pay homage and DMC looked and sounded great. After close to an hour, LL took a break and Queen Latifah came out. Her set was dope and included an appearance by Monie Love. Treach from Naughty by Nature joined her next and he tore it down, doing several NBN joints. I though LL might have made a mistake by allowing them to rock out before he came back out because they were damn good. I was wrong. DJ Z Trip did a brief set and led LL back out to a performance of "I Need Love". From there, LL went on the burn the stage down with more hits and a cover of Whodini's "Freaks Come out at Night"which went over really well. He closed with "Rock the Bells"and left no doubt who the people came out to see. Excellent sound, visuals and flow to the show. My son loved it.
