About

LIZ LONGLEY IN CONCERT:

Acoustic singer-songwriter Liz Longley has a knack for deeply emotional songwriting and a stunningly expressive voice that  brings those songs to life. The rising songstress's crystal-clear delivery recalls a young Joni Mitchell or Paula Cole, and her hushed, intimate songs and powerful live performances have earned her a loyal fanbase. Longley is a relative newcomer -- she released her self-titled debut album in early 2015-- but her mesmerizing, confident live shows reveal her to be an old soul with a deep musical foundation. Whether she's singing confessional tunes like "When You've Got Trouble" and "Unraveling" or entertaining fans with anecdotes about her musical journey, Longley never fails to impress with her soaring voice, gentle guitar playing, and poetic lyrics.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Liz Longley grew up in East Brandywine Township, PA, where she began writing songs at age 14. By 15 she was recording in a studio, and at 16 she signed her first contract. The following year she became an internet hit, topping the acoustic chart on GarageBand.com with her song "Naked Trees". A string of songwriting honors soon followed including an International Acoustic Music Award for the song "When You've Got Trouble" and a top prize from the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Competition. In the early '00s Longley began raising funds for her debut album using crowdfunding site Kickstarter. She quickly surpassed her goal of $35,000, and the effusive show of support from her fans helped land her a deal with Sugar Hill Records in 2014. Longley released her self-titled debut on the label in early 2015, drumming up excitement among ticket buyers for her next round of shows on the road.

What a great night of outstanding music from talented singer/song writer female artists. Liz Longley was amazing and thrilled to see Heather Maloney for the first time. The Sinclair is a great venue and my first time as well.

Oh so talented Liz Longley not to be missed!!!!

by BeTheGood on 3/21/15Birchmere - Alexandria

Liz Longley is a breathtaking singer and very talented songwriter. She uses her life experiences as a basis for her songs. From Unraveling about her Grandmother's Alzheimer's to When You've Got Trouble (I've Got Trouble Too) to Camaro and on and on...they are relatable and draw you in. Her cover of Rhiannon was fantastic!! Throughout the evening she chats with the audience as if we were old friends, is funny and personable and gives you glimpses into her life. The evening passed way too quickly! We have heard her sing many times. It is wonderful to see her finally being recognized for her talent. Her rap song (college assignment) about selling Girl Scout cookies aptly named Dough for Dough is hysterical and a fan favorite! Give her a listen. Your ears will thank you!

    Great event

by pmov on 5/1/11RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

What a surprise, I had no idea what I was in for. They were both great story tellers and connected with the crowd, and if you are going to perform the kind of music they do, that is important. I had a smile on my face Liz's whole set as she had such a great way about her. Seeing her smile all the time was contageous. I was a bit late and only saw about 20 minute of Jesse, but he was equally asw talented. I highly recommend the both of them. Liz can really reach those high notes and when she does it is awesome. Great futures in music for the both of them

    Liz impressive

by sirzulu on 4/30/11RED ROOM AT CAFÉ 939 - Boston

Liz was everything I had heard her to be..special voice, impressive musician on guitar and piano, special talent in writing. As the lead act I was surprised and disappointed that her time on stage was limited by an opening routine that went on way too long. Red Room should manage the acts better so audience does not get shortchanged. Liz performance 5 stars. Evening 4 star rating due to opening act that went on too long.

Liz never fails to put on an incredible show. Not only is she a great songwriter, singer, and musician, but she has a fabulous stage presence which will leave you walking out with a smile at the end of her show, humming her songs for the rest of the week! Jesse was a great singer/songwriter as well!
