About

Lil Skies in Concert

Taking cues from Wiz Khalifa's bad-boy eccentricity and Lil Wayne's eclectic edge, Lil Skies' showmanship is poised somewhere between rigor, grit, and a dash of flamboyance. Often seen sporting a charming yet mischievous grin and brightly colored braids to boot, Lil Skies' enthusiasm and high energy both exhilarate and beguile audiences as he fiercely cues his brilliant trap beats.

The Gen Z MC has already performed alongside eminent trap rappers such as Fetty Wap and Rich the Kid, and he's now set to tour the United States starting December 5, kicking off at Chicago's House of Blues.

Moreover, the "Red Roses" rapper currently shares a roster with heavyweight wordsmiths like Cardi B, Post Malone, and Young Thug for the Rolling Loud Los Angeles festival taking place on December 14 at Banc of California Stadium. Lil Skies' American tour dates continue well into 2019.

Lil Skies Background

Lil Skies (born Kimetrius Foose) is one of the most hyped rappers to burst onto the burgeoning emo rap scene. Born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, in 1998, Foose began stitching up mixtapes as a tender third grader.

While his creative fuel comes from playful debauchery, familial atrocities have also powered his commitment to his craft. The face of his father (a former musician who went by Dark Skies) "got burnt off" after contact with a workplace explosive. At age 17, after Lil Skies self-released his debut hip-hop mixtape ‘Good Grades, Bad Habits 2' online, he soon began bedecking his face with tattoos, which he says keeps him artistically motivated.

His breakthrough came in 2017 via his debut single, the glowing trap jam "Red Roses," which landed him a spot on Billboard's Hot 100, followed by another chart-topper, the languid, nihilistic "Nowadays." The two Gold-certified hits grabbed the attention of Atlantic Records, which signed the young rapper. He then released his third full-length, 2018's ‘Life of a Dark Rose,' which peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.

    Energy and Passion was AMAZING!!!!

    by Elena D. on 11/15/23

I went to the LA show at the Belasco and it was everything and more. Been a fan since the Shelby album and he did not disappoint my first time seeing him. I went to the meet and greet and although it was super fast (expected) , he still took time to please his fans with signatures and selfies. The openers were all good energy and his guest appearance of Landon Cube was epic! His whole show was just high energy the whole time. He performed back to back his older hits and even his new stuff. Hearing “I” live was a dream. Lil Skies proved once again why he is one of my favorite artists. Will definitely be seeing him again live one day!

    Struggle to find lineup

by Where?? on 11/12/23House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

We followed our phones GPS to find House of blues, and it was sort of hidden towards the back but that’s fine. Then we came across the front doors, wondering where everybody was and then we had to walk around the building and ask the security where the lineup was for the artist we’re looking for then they verified that the line was for the artist but another issue was that there was two separate lines, which I was unaware of, and was told by others that that other line was for the meet & greet, if it wasn’t for them, I would’ve got on the regular line and was going to miss out on it . After that entrance was pretty quick and easy and after the show I could not find any water haha. Thankfully, there’s 7-Eleven not to far. BUTTTT the lights, and the sound system was amazing. Guy loved how the place is airy and just a good place in general. Little tiny but it’s fine for smaller artists.
