    Bucket List Item Fulfilled

by Aaron C on 11/22/22Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

I've seen LTC a few times over the years, all in NYC. It has always been a lower-level "bucket list" item for me to see them at their "home" at the Paradise in Boston, and this was the year I finally made it happen. My wife and I drove up from the NYC area and got some dinner at Time Out Market, then headed over to the Paradise for the show. It's one of the better venues I've been to in the last couple of years - a large club that somehow feels like a more intimate space. The place was packed, and Michael and Kay started off acoustic with the hauntingly sad track, "Back to Nebraska," after which, the rest of the band came out for a few more acoustic numbers. After that, it was power-pop city all the way as LTC tore through their list of classics, along with the well-known covers. A nice surprise was the horns that came out for the encore, and they lent a lot of force to the show ender, "Rim Shak." Letters never fails to disappoint, and seeing them in a venue with an enthusiastic home crowd 100% fulfilled this bucket list item for me. They do shows in the LA area and the east coast every November for the past few years - if you're anywhere near (or even if you're not), it's definitely worth the trip. They never disappoint.

    My Ideal Setlist

by Chris V on 12/2/21Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

I've seen Letters to Cleo numerous times, dating back to 1995, and I can't say i've seen a bad show. This show, however, on 11/19/21 at the Paradise, was special to me, on a personal level, for a number of reasons. it was my first closeup, club show in nearly 2 years, and it was an amazing one. It's always a good sign when the opening act is not only really enjoyable, but also clearly having a great time. Charly Bliss nailed their set and definitely made a new fan in me. Their clear fandom of Cleo only endeared them to me even more. As for the main event, from the moment I heard the opening notes to the opening song, Go!, I knew I was in for a treat, but I had no idea just how much. if I was asked to create a dream setlist for a Letters to Cleo show, I assure you it wouldn't differ too much from Friday night's set. It was a great trek through the band's entire catalog, with every song seemingly one of my favorites, and performed perfectly or, in some cases, perfectly imperfectly, which made it all the better and more enjoyable. I can't say enough about how great this show was, not just because of the 2-year drought, but because the band was on. they were having a great time and it came through in every note and every word. They were laughing and joking and engaging their hometown crowd. The only thing left for me to want at the end was more. The annual homecoming shows are swiftly becoming one of my favorite holiday traditions!

    What a magic night!!

    by O. R. on 11/24/21Bowery Ballroom - New York

It was a magical night after seeing those 2 great ladies. Tracy's voice is in top shape almost like time never passed for her. And Letters to Cleo, wow!! huge flashbacks from 1993 onwards. Kay's voice also at its best. Thank you both bands for such an amazing night!

    Energetic and upbeat

by 10 Things on 11/23/21Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

A small venue but perfect to really take in a favorite band, or to check out something new. Those poles in the middle of the room though...mercy. I realize we need a roof (haha) but those poles suck!

    Best show ever!!!

by Rob on 11/23/21Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Letter's To Cleo is nothing short of amazing. They have so much talent and so many good songs. They sound just as good today as they ever have. They are a "must-see" band. The opener, Charly Bliss was amazing as well. I've never seen them before but can't wait to see them again.

    Still Rocking

by H on 11/20/21Bowery Ballroom - New York

Awesome show. Played at a frenetic pace, cramming as many into their set as possible. Sounded great and hit everything you'd want--except Acid Jed. Wish they'd play that more than they do. Opener was fun too. Crown was into it and mostly chill with the exception of a few loud drunks, but it's Bowery, you go in expecting that.

The band played their songs well

by KashifQ on 11/26/19Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens Bank - Boston

I'm not a fan of either band. Speedy Ortiz was more exciting. I really enjoyed parts of their songs. Letters to Cleo was ok. They play their songs well. Nothing exciting.

I’ve seen Letters to Cleo four times now, and they always have high energy and play a great show. They also always play the hits in Kay’s voice sounds just like the Album.
