About

Leanne Morgan on Tour

A seasoned comedian with a uniquely Southern charm, Leanne Morgan tells stories that are as relatable as they are hilarious. It's no wonder audiences across America have connected so strongly to her funny, warmhearted and sometimes outrageous tales about juggling the demands of career and family, getting older, joining Weight Watchers for the seventh time and generally doing her best to raise her kids without going crazy.

Raised in rural Appalachia, Morgan was a stay-at-home wife and mother of three who caught the comedy bug while trying to entertain customers for her short-lived jewelry business. After honing her skills as an MC for events near her home in Tennessee, Morgan became one of the brightest new talents on the comedy scene thanks to appearances at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, a finalist spot for the Nick at Nite TV competition show The Search for the Funniest Mom in America and her performances with Southern Fried Chicks, the hugely successful all-female comedy tour.

Morgan has shared her homespun, family-friendly brand of comedy on Dr. Phil and The View. When not performing stand-up in venues all over the country both as a solo act and with Trish Suhr and Karen Mills on the Country Cool Comedy show, she's collaborating with Home Improvement writer-producer Matt Williams on a forthcoming sitcom of her own.

Who is Leanne Morgan?

Leanne Morgan's frank, funny and relatable comedy style is deeply rooted in her experiences growing up in rural Appalachia and being a wife and mother in her own bustling family in Tennessee and Texas.

After attending the University of Tennessee and becoming a mom, Morgan discovered a love of performing when she started a part-time jewelry business and realized she liked entertaining the customers best of all. With her lively, engaging wit, she soon found enthusiastic audiences beyond her community. Appearances at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and The View led to a breakout spot as a finalist on Nick at Nite's The Search for the Funniest Mom in America.

Morgan's three years with the top-grossing comedy tour Southern Fried Chicks and her many live and TV appearances with celebrity chef Paula Deen further increased her following nationwide. Appearing in venues across America, she continues to delight audiences with her tales of career, marriage and motherhood both as a stand-up solo performer and alongside Trish Suhr and Karen Mills on the Country Cool Comedy show.

    Worth it!

by HLE on 3/27/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

Hilarious! Even if you’ve seen all of Leanne’s videos 100 times, she manages to tell more stories about her life and family that are so relatable and funny.

I bought tickets for myself and my 40 something daughter. I had watched a few of her shows online and loved them….was just hoping my daughter would also enjoy her humor. She thoroughly enjoyed her show, and we both laughed so hard. Would definitely see her again…..my daughter and I still bring up some of her comments and crack up! What a great show!!

Leanne Morgan was fabulous! She knows her audience for sure. It is quite possible that my husband laughed more than I did - which was a lot. So. Much. Fun.

    She's hysterical!

by Face hurt from laughing so much on 3/26/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The show was awesome. Both the opening act and Leann made us laugh the whole time. Leann has such a great sense of humor and timing you can't help but be thoroughly entertained. She is very relatable as her stories hit on topics that we all go thru as parents, husbands, wives, etc. We'd go see her again in a heartbeat.

Great show, but venue's personnel sucked at traffic control!

by A. L. from Pittsburgh on 3/26/24UPMC Events Center - Moon Township

The show was great, and I would see Leanne Morgan again! However, Robert Morris University completely FAILED at handling the volume of incoming cars to the extent that I would be reticent about seeing another show at their UPMC Event Center again. I arrived half an hour before the 7 PM curtain time, and the traffic going into the campus was at a stand-still for at least fifteen minutes. There was an RMU campus police officer at the intersection/signal of the main entrance, but he did absolutely NOTHING to direct traffic going into the campus! Instead, he was simply only serving as a school-crossing guard for the pedestrians who were crossing the street from the mall across the street, where they had parked! He was pathetic and didn't even stop and redirect the cars who were cutting in the line to get into the entrance! Once we got into RMU's driveway (only ONE lane in either direction), the traffic was slow, and the school had inexplicably chosen to not allow patrons to park in one of the adjacent parking lots that was less than half full. Meanwhile, older patrons had to walk as much a half mile from the Wheatley Center's parking lot BACK to the UPMC Event Center! Needless to say, we got to our seats about half an hour after the curtain time. The show ended at 9 PM, but after the half mile walk back to our car and waiting in the dead-stopped traffic, we didn't exit the campus until 9:50 PM! Utterly ridiculous and unnecessary, had RMU assigned a few officers to the campus' main entrance to direct and control traffic. I'm sure the University made enough money on the event to hire a couple of Moon Township Police Officers to direct traffic if the University's police/security officers had no idea how direct traffic and keep it flowing. My recommendation to people going to any show at the UPMC Event Center at Robert Morris University's Main/Moon Township Campus is to either arrive at least an hour before the event's start/curtain time so you get into the parking lot next to the Event Center, or don't bother going at all unless you like wasting your time sitting in traffic.
