Underwhelming
by NL on 1/14/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los AngelesWe had tickets for the 8pm admission for the LA Zoo Lights. Having been to the Denver Zoo lights, we had high expectations. However, the experience here was underwhelming. There were more lights on the "LA Zoo Lights" sign on the entrance than in the actual zoo. The lights inside were scattered in little sections rather than decorated throughout, and they weren't even in patterns or animal shapes. There were some lit-up animal figures, but that's about it. You had to guess which way to go, as there was no clear path, and you couldn't even tell there was music (Christmas-y or otherwise). The reptile rooms were open for viewing, but only a couple of the enclosures were lit up so we couldn't see many of the critters anyway. When we got to what we think was supposed to be the main attraction -- a tunnel of lights to walk through -- half the lights were off. So, yeah, not very worth a long drive to see.
