    Underwhelming

by NL on 1/14/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

We had tickets for the 8pm admission for the LA Zoo Lights. Having been to the Denver Zoo lights, we had high expectations. However, the experience here was underwhelming. There were more lights on the "LA Zoo Lights" sign on the entrance than in the actual zoo. The lights inside were scattered in little sections rather than decorated throughout, and they weren't even in patterns or animal shapes. There were some lit-up animal figures, but that's about it. You had to guess which way to go, as there was no clear path, and you couldn't even tell there was music (Christmas-y or otherwise). The reptile rooms were open for viewing, but only a couple of the enclosures were lit up so we couldn't see many of the critters anyway. When we got to what we think was supposed to be the main attraction -- a tunnel of lights to walk through -- half the lights were off. So, yeah, not very worth a long drive to see.

    Awesome

by Elayne on 1/12/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

This is our 3rd time going to this event and once again, didn’t disappoint. Our granddaughters love it. They are 4 and 2 and are mesmerized by the lights. Will definitely keep the yearly tradition going.

    GREAT EXPERIENCE

by HOTTODDIE on 1/12/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

Our first time attending the Zoo Lights and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a great experience and we are very glad we attended. We will look forward to attending again next year. I highly recommend this venue to not only have and enjoyable experience but it also helps to support the zoo.

    Awesome lights and well organized!

by VJ on 1/10/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

We did the LA Zoo lights on a Monday evening after Christmas as it was really great for the kids and the adults. Not crowded at all, well organized and amazing light display. Definitely worth doing it together with the whole family.

    Not as good as 2019

by Jen G on 1/10/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

We loved the zoo lights are first time is 2019 so we were looking forward to this year after 2020 was cancelled. This year was kinda blah compared. The only new thing was the twinkle tunnel. Half the lights where out in the tunnel, big sections unlit. Many of the things we enjoyed last time were not there this time. The rest was the same. We loved the fake snow and it was not there. We left saying that was enough for a few years until they have a chance to get some new things going and maybe an electrician to fix what they had before.

    Wonderful

by Diane on 1/9/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

We had a wonderful time walking through the beautiful Christmas Lights at the LA Zoo, and sipping on the delicious cocoa one can purchase. A great annual tradition we will add to our holiday season!

    Rainy Day

by Shook on 1/9/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

This event should not have a rain or shine policy. The day of the event was a very rainy day in LA. Since this is already a rare occurrence, I should have been offered to reschedule or receive a refund. This is an outdoor event and with Omnicron raging in the city, I shouldn’tbe expected to attend an event under these circumstances. My family couldn’t go and we wasted our money. There should be some measures to give people an option when it rains.

    LA Zoo Lights

by AMR on 1/9/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

Advertising stated new light displays and food available. Based on my visit 2years ago, there were no new and bigger displays. There were only 2 places open for food. Although my granddaughters enjoyed it, I found it very disappointing. We will not be back next year.

    Zoo Lights During Torretial Rains

by Diane Hong on 1/9/22Los Angeles Zoo - Los Angeles

I think it's tragic that during a severe rainstorm that tickets are not refunded. I had my kids in town and decided to splurge and take 6 of us to see the Zoo Lights. After standing in a wet miserable line for 10 minutes in the rain we were allowed to go in. Everyone was trying to put on a good face for me as I looked down and saw my grandchild's little shoes soaked and my son's jacket so wet he was shivering. We stayed 20 minutes and left. Did we enjoy any of it? No. I think it's a crime to not allow us to exchange tickets when the weather is that bad. I am a member of the L.A,Zoo and am not sure I'll continue.
