Forged in the flame of heavy metal, Khemmis is a prolific, doom metal quartet from Denver, Colorado, whose evolving body of work unifies the kingdoms and casts of modern metal music. From stoner distortion to death metal structure, Khemmis'  critically acclaimed sound unites listeners from the many tribes of metal music into one cohesive camp. In 2023, Khemmis embarked on the sprawling 20-city Deceiver North America MMXXIII Tour, their first stateside headlining run in nearly four years, performing songs from their 2021 album Deceiver. Sharing the stage in 2023 with fellow metal bands Conjurer and WAKE, Khemmis astonishes crowds with ripping guitar riffs, fuzzed-out bass licks and pummeling kick drums.  Drawing from their sprawling musical catalog, Khemmis mines the deep cuts for a live performance that pushes the boundaries of modern metal. With their debut album Absolution, released by 20 Buck Spin in 2015, Khemmis gained underground recognition, winning the 11th spot in Decibel Magazine's Top 40 albums of 2015. Khemmis' breakout second album, Hunted, dropped the following year, capturing the coveted No. 1 spot on Decibel Magazine's Top 40 in 2016 -- vaulting the group's standing in metal circles nationally and internationally. Their third studio album, Desolation, appeared in 2017, with a new international distribution deal from the Nuclear Blast record label, further cementing the group's standing as metal royalty. Phil Pendergast (vocals/guitar) and Ben Hutcherson (vocals/guitar) met as sociology grad students at the University of Colorado, Denver in 2012. Adamant about exploring their metal musings, the pair enlisted Zach Coleman (drums) and Daniel Beiers (bass) to form Khemmis (named from a city in ancient Egypt). The quartet released their self-titled EP in 2013, following up with full-length albums Absolution in 2015 and Hunted in 2016. These projects widened Khemmis' American audience and garnered media attention, landing the band on numerous top-of lists. Following an international distribution deal with Atomic Blast, Khemmis released their third studio album Desolation in 2017. The recognition that followed prompted Khemmis to headline their first international tour in 2017, further exposing metalheads far and wide to their creative vision. Fans and media outlets alike have drawn comparisons between Khemmis' all-encompassing doomed metal sound and iconic groups like Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Pallbearer, and High on Fire.
