Kansas in Concert
With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, KANSAS has firmly established itself as one of America's iconic classic rock bands. This "garage band" from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Composing a catalogue that includes fifteen studio albums and five live albums, KANSAS has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and two one million-selling gold singles, ‘Carry On Wayward Son' and ‘Dust in the Wind.' KANSAS appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ‘70's and ‘80's and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. ‘Carry On Wayward Son' continues to be one of the top five most played songs on classic rock radio, and ‘Dust In the Wind' has been played on the radio more than three million times!
2016 marked the release of "The Prelude Implicit," KANSAS's fifteenth studio album. The wide-ranging progressive rock album was released on InsideOut Music, and marked the band's first studio album release in 16 years.
Throughout 2016-2017, the band celebrated both the release of "The Prelude Implicit" and the anniversary of breakout album "Leftoverture" with the highly successful KANSAS: Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour. That tour was released in 2017 as a live album, "Leftoverture Live & Beyond."
The band, which is currently comprised of keyboardist Tom Brislin, original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, guitarist Zak Rizvi, and original guitarist Richard Williams. KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.
Along with constant touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio. The band has reached a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence on the popular video games Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and through their songs' inclusion in various television shows such as ‘Supernatural,' and ‘South Park,' and with films ‘Old School,' and ‘Anchorman.'
The show was awesome! Kansas rocked! Had a great time!
After seeing the original members starting with Audio Visions these guys did a good job. Rich Williams was great. Phil Ehart had a health issue and his replacement was very good. The big plus and best part of the show was Song for America
Great performance but it's hardly Kansas with only one actual member. Real band pricing for a coverband is shameful.
We saw the band Kansas, 50th Anniversary Tour - Another Fork in the Road at Genesee Theater, Waukegan IL. Phenomenal show. The band played for 2 hours, then an encore. The band was awesome, the venue was gorgeous. We'd definitely go again
Well for a band that at this point should probably say, Tribute"band. They really hook the "Kansas"vibe! They sound just as good, if not better, then the original. The amount of energy was just amazing! Bravo!
They have truly perfected everything - 50 years later-WOW. Great show. Nice venue, a little cramped but great view and great sound.
Great concert and venue. My first show at the Genesse.
They were fantastic. We have seen them before but this time was outstanding! Really enjoyed the violin and guitar!
Only one original member of Kansas was able to perform that night (Richard Williams), but what a show! As a Kansas fan, I was delighted and amazed that the band not only played the popular songs, but did several deep dives into some of Kansas' lesser known but magnificent and very difficult (to play) music, and they played it flawlessly! Top that off with the fact that the sound mix was perfect. I could hear every instrument clearly. Great job to Kansas and to the venue (Genesee Theater in Waukegan, IL)!!
Kansas sounded Amazing, and gave high energy from start to finish!
