Judas Priest on Tour
British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.
Judas Priest in Concert
The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.
Great place to see a show. Judas Priest and Sabaton were excellent . Brought back memories from 1984.
It was an incredible show. The band and crowd were on FIRE that night. Best concert I’ve been to in a loooong time! Loved it!
The only thing I would change about the concept is how loud it is! Our seats were the farthest away from the stage and my ears are still ringing, and I'm only 25! Please turn it down to a safer decibel level!
Judas Priest was awesome as expencted. i purchased a seat on the floor which was a folding seat. Folding seat ok and i understand the need to get as many seats in the space as possible but should leave an inch or two between seats for us smaller people who can swallowed up with seats this close.
Rob can still hit all the notes and the band knocked it out of the park. I cannot believe how good this concert was. The set list was awesome and when they played victim of changes the stadium was shaking. Great show
Sabaton and Judas Priest were awesome. Great music, and fun time.
Judas Priest was great as usual. Halford's voice is as good as ever. Great set list. Two songs I've never heard them play live including Devil's Child. Sabaton opened and puts on a great show as well. Really got the crowd into it.
Packed house, great crowd, Priest played a loud set, most songs were stellar, could have used some pyro. Lighting was very intense and Halford was loving the arena. Sabaton opened and played loud, but also needed pyro coming out of their tank drum kit. Great show overall and our usher in section 108 kept people out of stairway so we hah a good view for most of the show.
What a concert! They sounded great although the first few songs seemed a bit rushed. They did a lot of our favorite old songs and some new ones from the recent album. Lots of great songs on the encores, too. We loved when he rode his bike onstage! The whole crowd loved it! We were all singing along.
Showed up for just Sabaton. Great performance as always, hope they're the main act next time they tour. Hopefully, they'll play The Unkillable Soldier then. However, I can't say the same with Judas Priest or its audience. It was pretty meh. Only three songs from their new album, which shares the same name as the tour, were played. The most glaring problem was that throughout both performances I saw multiple people, including these three guys in the row in front of me, just casually vaping and stinking up the place. Seriously?! That's gross! Can you be courteous to the others also in the audience (including literal children!!!) and not itch for a hit for four hours? Prudential Center, and all venues really, need to start confiscating vape pens and e-cigs at the door. And there also needs to be active enforcement/confiscation during the performance if someone manages to sneak it in. I had to leave halfway through JP because the vape clouds were going directly in my face and the smell plus the heat of the venue was making me noxious. Surprising no one, I came down with a cold days later. Do better!
