About

Joshua Bassett may sing, write, act, and play multiple instruments, but he humbly identifies himself as "just a kid from San Diego who loves music." Long before starring in a Disney+ original series, generating millions of streams, and garnering widespread acclaim, he grew up surrounded by music in Oceanside, CA. He played drums in church, taught himself ukulele, guitar, and piano, and wrote his first song for his homecoming date at 15. In addition to being homeschooled alongside his five sisters, he strengthened his voice in local theater productions. Bassett landed the lead role of Ricky in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in 2019 and soon thereafter signed with Warner Records, unveiling his solo debut "Common Sense" in 2020. That laid the foundation for his blockbuster 2021, which brought his self-titled debut EP, viral hit "Feel Something," and "Crisis / Secret / Set Me Free" -- a trio of emotional tracks that raised money for mental health organizations including a donation of $20K from Bassett himself. Those releases lifted his total global streams to more than 280M. His winning ways continue in 2022 with the release of "Doppelgänger," his feature film debut Better Nate Than Ever, as well as the announcement of his first headlining tour, which takes him across North America and Europe.

    Omg omg omg!!

    by Stacey Ann on 9/23/23

I saw Josh last September in NY at Bowery and can I just say omg?!?! He’s such a talented performer it’s truly unbelievable to witness it live. It’s been a year and I still can’t believe I got to experience it. I love Joshua Bassett because you can feel and hear his passion not only through his voice on the audio recordings, but also just through him while he’s on stage. You could tell he really loves and enjoys what he does. I could go on and on and on and say all the reasons as to why I believe Joshua Bassett is truly so special and so beautiful but let me just say this. Watching him live made me feel seen, it made me feel like pursuing my passion is obtainable and realistic and deserves the attention I give to others. Thank you Joshua truly from the bottom of my feet to the top of the tallest trees.

Joshua Bassett = the best upcoming singer

    by tealsloth on 8/8/23

The entire experience of seeing Josh was amazing… except for the weather and the number of crazy people who camped out. I’ve been a fan of his since early 2020, and much like him: went through a lot. For how young and busy he is, his energy never wavered and he put on one of the best shows I’ve been to. I love that he went around the upper level of the venue so the fans who had mezzanine still got to see him up close (#jealous). One thing that wasn’t a slay that night was the merch prices. I still paid for it, but 95$ for a hoodie is a bit much. The opener, Jenna raine, was so cute and an absolute gem. Coming into the concert I only knew one of her songs from TikTok, but she pulled through and covered some songs (Coldplay’s “yellow” and Harry Styles’ “As it Was”) along with singing her own music. The fans had such an incredible energy too, they showed Jenna only respect. She even came out after the show, by the merch stand and got to meet some of the fans. She was willing to take pictures, compliment others, and be part of a fan’s TikTok! Josh did not disappoint and I will 100% be seeing him every time he comes to Toronto.

    LOVE HIM SM

    by A. S. on 6/15/23

Made you feel like he saw you during the concert. Effectively and effortlessly constantly put on a show for the crowd and got everyone involved. Tried to reach out and connect with as many audience members as possible. Played guitar, piano, and sang authentically the whole time. Recommend seeing him in concert, you won’t regret it!!

    The Most Beautiful Soul

    by J. B. on 6/14/23

Went to see Josh after his show (for my location) was postponed for a year or so. So worth the wait. He did his absolute best to see everyone he possibly could. He even has a song where he entered from the very back of the venue and made his way up to the stage. There are seriously no bad seats. He has the best morals, and his positivity is contagious. I love this man
