American roots rock icon John Fogerty is as beloved for his solo work as he is for his time with legendary swamp rockers Creedence Clearwater Revival. Included by Rolling Stone on both their 100 Greatest Guitarist and 100 Greatest Singers lists, Fogerty continued to assert his role as an enduring figure in rock music with the 2013 release of Wrote a Song for Everyone, his ninth solo album. Featuring collaborative interpretations of his most beloved songs performed with acts like Foo Fighters, Miranda Lambert, and Jennifer Hudson, the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and provided listeners a fresh new take on classics like “Bad Moon Rising” and “Born on the Bayou.” Fogerty rose to success with Creedence Clearwater Revival in the late ‘60s, achieving international fame in 1969 with hit single “Proud Mary” from Bayou Country. After the release of the band’s final album in 1972, Fogerty would release a series of critically-acclaimed solo albums, including 1997’s Blue Moon Swamp and 2008’s Revival, the former of which won a Grammy for Best Rock Album. On tour in 2013, Fogerty has been treating ticket buyers to extended renditions of his greatest hits, earning rave reviews for his infectious energy.
Show was and he played many songs I knew but he only played for one hour.
Show was awesome, however, the rows of seats were super close .. like people tripping over people to get by LOL
Wonderful concert. Great musicians backing him in an intimate setting. JF was very warm and friendly. Often describing how songs were written, the setting, instruments used etc…. He has such a distinctive voice. I think many in the audience were taken back to earlier times in their life. He didn’t hold back. He seemed to play every song in his catalog.
Fogerty and Sons were phenomenal! However, the show was late starting and ended at 9pm, so it seems the concert was 1.5 hours at best. Would like to have the option to use printed tickets instead of scanning my phone. We were seated in the VIP area and the seats were excellent but unfortunately fans in front of us rudely chose to stand for the entire concert.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but John Fogerty and his band played their hearts out! His humility and appreciation were obvious, which made them even more wonderful! Wow, so glad we were able to go. They played for about two hours straight, but didn't even get to all of their hits. Next time!!
The event started out with a brief video then John Fogerty took the stage and repeated essentially the same thing. A few songs in the sound system failed. Instead of starting over JF moved on to the next song which also had sound glitches. The feeling was that he was going to power through no matter what so he could finish and leave. When he did speak between songs he mentioned for the third time how he now owns his own music. Was looking forward to an evening of hits and good memories but left feeling unsatisfied with the event.
John Fogarty/CCR were among my earliest musical influences. They were one of the main reasons I learned to play guitar. The energy and mojo of the show was unbelievable. Kudos to John for getting rights back to his own music.
Fogerty was very interactive with audience and his music was awesome
Mr Fogarty was amazing! A quick loss of power during one song made for a bit of a song along but overall the venue was great. Very intimate setting and it was like having CCR in your living room. Thanks to Talking Stick for a great evening!
Sang all the CCR hits with energy and passion. Engaged with the audience. His voice is still very good and the backing of his sons and other band members was excellent. A superb concert.
Was a great concert, John Fogerty played many of his hits, introduced his family and band and made it what seemed a very personal concert. The venue was ok....seats are too close together, but other than that it was great.
Great show from a great band. Only drawback is the venue suffered a sound glitch for most of a song, good thing the audience knew the words!
I didn’t find out about this show until late, so I could only get seats towards the back. The music was great. Unfortunately the people in our section, 104, decided to stand throughout almost the entire concert. They had a large screen, but people were blocking our view for that as well. I could peak over to the other sections occasionally and could see that they were setting down. I would have been ok with standing at the beginning, I understand that. But even when I tried standing I couldn’t really see anything. Very disappointing.
It was all about John, his family and HIS music. It was awesome!
Concert was great but the Talking Sticks pool venue was terrible. Seating arrangements were misleading on the map, most cabanas had a terrible view. Sounds system was ok but had several problems during the show. I would see John Fogerty again but not at Talking Sticks.
John, can still jam with the best of them. Hard to believe that he's in his late 70's. Seeing his two kids playing with him was pretty remarkable. He loves his family. The way that he spoke about his wife was very touching. I only wish that he would make peace with his original bandmates. They were so good in the late 60's & 70's. Listening to his music brought back a lot of good memories. I miss those days. Too much political strife in our society today. Love & Peace, forever!
Fogerty is excellent! Sounds as good as he did when first recorded songs. Venue zipties tiny chairs together so there isn't even elbow room or enough room to safely let someone pass to get to their seat. I'm only 135# and I felt squished. Also, too much smoke haze on stage...could hardly see artists...But music Outstanding!
It was a great concert, Seat were great. The only problem there were 4 people that would not sit down in front of us that made everyone stand up and I am a bit crippled and could not stand for the whole concert. I bought VIP tickets for that reason. Thinking I could sit. Not Good!!!!
John & his sons (members of the band) did not disappoint. Great hearing all those songs he wrote & bringing back memories. Venue was nice too.
Terrific show! Performance was great. Concessions and location were great too. The only issue is the chairs are small and way to close together. I couldn’t even sit back in my chair.
