Warm-up comic was fun. Jenny did about an hour and a quarter. She started off with 20 minutes on the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast which, as she said, if you haven't seen them you'll lost. I hadn't and I was. I enjoyed the rest of her set, but have an issue with the venue. They had the heat cranked up crazily and, after a long day walking the city, it made it very hard to stay awake. Not good conditions to laugh.
Her bit is not meant for stand up. Please stick to what you’re brilliant at and leave stand up to the pros.
Really boring, easily the worst show I have seen in years. So disappointed. She read aloud from her book, and it wasn't funny, but it also wasn't inspiring or interesting. I would suggest you not go to her show and instead watch an episode of Reading Rainbow, where at least the books are good.
laughed, cried, lost 10 pounds (just kidding). this show was incredibly touching. would see again and again. i can't wait to get the book. i will always see Jenny when she's in Boston (and love that she's from the area, too!)
Probably the most disappointing live show I’ve ever paid for, her stories were not funny, compelling, or interesting. My wife and I had to walk out after an hour were we just waited patiently for a moment of entertainment, but just didn’t get a single one.
Jenny Slate is a delight, full of humor, kindness, and wit. She always puts on a great show and it was fantastic to hear her read from her new book, which is pure wonder. She is a talented person and we love her! Go see her and you will love her too!
Thought it would be funnier, more stand up! It was just her reading from her book.
After watching her Netflix special I was expecting a little more silliness and over the top performing, but Slate was grounded, vulnerable, and delightful as she read from her new book, accompanied by a fancy harp. I appreciated the q&a session, and her honest, self reflective answers. The audience was with her through the funny, surprising, weird, and personal excerpts she read from the book, and it showcased that she might be known for her comedy, but her writing is very special too.
I have been to many comedy shows, concerts, book launches, etc. Nothing has ever bored me in the way that this event bored me. Truly ridiculous. Usually a huge fan of Jenny Slate but this event didn't make me laugh once!
