ILUSTRADO is Rogelio Penaverde Jr., a native of Manila, Philippines. He came to New York to pursue a scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music for a Master's Degree in Voice. After finishing his studies, he carved out a career in opera, musical theater and sacred music with critical acclaim (the New York Times celebrated his "sweet voice" while Opera News lauded him as an "incisive tenor"). When the pandemic wiped away all his engagements in 2020, he rediscovered his passion and gift for songwriting. He is currently completing 3 EP's that comprise the Pearl Drive Project. They feature works in various genres - r&b, rock, soul and dance. An artist who found himself when the world stopped, he now answers to a different calling - to share a piece of himself with every music he creates.
