I attended the play with two friends who are Austen fans.

    by M. P. on 8/11/19Ewing Theatre - Normal

The venue is beautiful. I love the open air, the fact that microphones were not needed, the beautiful grounds. As to this show...what can I say, the actors were great! Oh, Mr. Collins! Mr and Mrs. Bennett were excellent also. The set and costumes were great. I loved the staging. Thanks so much for doing a Jane Austen story. Please consider doing another. Thanks.

Go see this. It’s one of the best performances I’ve seen in the last few years. We were there opening night and the performance was flawless.

Shakespeare Fest is the Best Part of Summer!

by abmandula on 8/13/18ISU Center for the Performing Arts - Normal

Shakespeare Fest is not to be missed if you're in Central Illinois or looking for a daytrip from the city! Ewing Manor is an incredible venue for shows, and worth showing up for just to walk the gardens and enjoy the space. The actors are impressive to say the least, and the imagination that goes into making each play a unique experience is beyond any other Shakespeare performance I've ever seen.

Merry Wives of Windsor/Normal was hilarious

by GRANDMANAFZIGER on 7/31/18Ewing Theatre - Normal

We picked a perfect evening (wonderful weather) and the play was hilarious. Great actors and so fun and funny. Only disappointment was the very loud locusts (hard to hear some of the lines) and the motorcycles close by - all of which was out of anyone’s control. Play was wonderful.

Get your tickets before the season is done! Take a picnic and enjoy the Jazz before the show.

    by ISUAlum5 on 7/16/18Ewing Theatre - Normal

Ewing Manor is a lovely spot. I was expecting a lot more mosquitoes but there weren't any! The performance was riveting, outstanding and amazing. I look forward to whatever they do next year.

Great Show - Too bad it rained

by SBID on 8/17/17Ewing Theatre - Normal

I loved the Cymbeline at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Act 1 was terrific. Act 2 started but was interrupted by rain. Unfortunately the company chose to cancel the remainder of the show. I understand this, but I feel that they were way too hasty to make this decision. The rain was bad for about 20 minutes and then it let up and in 30 minutes it had stopped and was clear. I would have gladly waited that 30 minutes in order to see act 2. The company offered to honor the tickets for a later production, but do they not realize that some of us made a special trip to Bloomington just for this occasion, so we are out in the cold. How incredibly disappointing! The company did not even acknowledge the fact that some of us would not be able to return for a later show. In past years this company has moved productions in doors when rain was threatened. The squall was predicted for days in advance. Why was the show not moved in doors? I am sure I will return, but I am so incredibly disappointed by this cancellation that I have to say it will give me pause in the future.
