Hololive's first concert in the US is quite a big deal! The venue itself is super new and things were quite plentiful for food/drink options before the concert if needed. Ticket scanning seemed to be limited to 3 lanes, which felt a little too small for how many people needed to get in and the bag policy changed twice mid event.
The concert itself was great! Though I was sitting in the 200s section on the corner side. Seeing that Cover opted a flat LED screen instead of a glass projection (e.g. Hastune Miku concerts), I felt a little bit disappointed since that fall short of the immersion of the talent being there on stage. The streaming / side screen viewing offered the best experience because of the flexibility of camera angles, AR and 3D presentation. The main screen itself showed the talent in a very miniscule-like size, without too much happening on screen beyond some occasional affects on the "TV"of the stage. It would be great if the talent was slightly larger sized for everyone to see a bit better.
I was hoping for the guest performance to perform one song, individually or with a paired duo of the EN guests, but instead they opted to do it as one song per full group. It also felt a tad short performance wise compared to their JP concert layout. There was also a lack of a live band. I had heard some people who watched the stream video got some really bad crowd cut shots, especially during the "highlight"of the performance itself, but as someone who attended in person, our view was non-interrupted.
Definitely a great attempt on Cover's part as a first concert in the US, with all the technical challenges they may had faced for not being on their home turf. I hope the next concert will be a bigger and better experience for everyone! Both to the ones who can attend and the ones watching online. If you do go to the next event, make sure it is as close to center section as possible ground level for the best experience.
