Henry Rollins Traveling Slideshow - Awesome

by gdoggg on 10/14/18Jefferson Theatre - Beaumont

I have been a huge Henry Rollins fan since the 80's when he was lead singer for Black Flag. However, his spoken word shows are where I have really become a follower. This one was exceptional; the stories that Henry provides for the photos that he shares are frequently funny and frequently heartbreaking. I am definitely on the same end of the political spectrum as Henry, however, for this show, he brought up only a very brief cursory mention of politics at one point, and was very respectful in how he did so. In these currently polarized times, it was refreshing. We had the VIP package, and getting to meet one of my primary heroes and talk with him after the show was surreal. I cannot recommend this show enough. It goes beyond being a concert or show, and actually will inspire you seek out ways to help the fellow humans that inhabit this planet with you. Henry is quite honestly the best speaker I have ever had the privilege to listen to.

    Henry is fantastic!

    by brad9052 on 10/14/18Jefferson Theatre - Beaumont

Henry Rollins is amazing. I've been a fan of his music, movies, blog, books, ect... for years so when I heard he was coming to my little town of Beaumont of course I went to the show. I enjoyed his photos and his description of the places he's visited. It makes me want to travel more, volunteer more and increase my vocabulary.

The Man Who Makes You Feel Lazy

by Artkison on 10/7/18Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Henry Rollins inspires me to do all the things I wish to accomplish in life. I’m sure this would ring true for any person that saw him and heard his stories live. Henry has a lot of wisdom and there is always something that can always be taken away from one of his shows. Recommend the experience highly.

This is my 3rd time seeing Henry’s spoken word shows, and I have always been thoroughly impressed. All of his shows are thought-provoking, engaging, and leave me with a sense of wanderlust. From stories about Black Flag to life on the road and as a writer, I always leave wishing the show were 3 hours longer. 10/10, will see again.

    Story time with Henry

    by Kdogg77 on 10/7/18Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Rollins shows are always entertaining as he is a very engaging speaker. However I found this format with his travel slideshow even more engrossing because it gave the audience something else to process. The pictures make Henry’s wonderful dialogues come to life even more. It really enforced just how many places he has been to and how many different cultures he has experienced. I hope to see more of this with his future performances.
