About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

    Great Show, Solid Cast

    by ALF6306 on 4/5/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

Hamilton(touring) was a fun evening in Detroit. The show is obviously well constructed and the cast did a great job bringing emotions and stage talent to the performance. I truly appreciate how Hamilton presents our nation's history to the audience, many who I am certain never knew how our country formed. The ticketing process was smooth and the venue staff do a great job welcoming and seating people. There are two venue related items that should be addressed as soon as possible. = The first, and most important is addressing the inadequate womens restroom facilities and directing patrons to non-venue options. They may need to add an additional 5 minutes to the intermission to allow all patrons to return. = The second is that the vendue needs to start a seat replacement plan. Many seats are worn, uncomfortable and past their service life. Years of use takes a toll on the cushions! Al

Good show — but why so overhyped????

by TheaterLady on 4/5/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Love the show — I although I didn’t get why people salivate over it the way they do. It is definitely different and imaginative (maybe those are the reasons people salivate), but in the end it’s as good a show as many others I’ve seen over the years. I had a hard time understanding the lyrics the entire first act — that could have been the venue; the Music Hall at Fair Park is bedeviled with sound problems. The Second Act was more fun and easier to understand. I didn’t see the original Broadway version, so I don’t know how this touring cast compares.

    Wow!

by Mandy on 4/5/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

I got tickets for my son because he is a huge history buff, a political science student and loves the music from hamiliton. I was afraid to be honest because I’m not a musical fan. This show completely changed my mind!! It was awesome!! No fear about it not being original cast because they was amazing!! I would see it over and over.

    Loved it!!

by Texasteacher98 on 4/5/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The music was amazing. The set was fantastic. I really enjoyed this musical, even though I was not familiar with the music or story before attending. I would definitely see this again if I had the chance.

Second time was just as good

by Carol on 4/4/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I was fortunate to see Hamilton in Chicago a couple years ago and HAD to again in Columbus. This was different but did not disappoint!

    Tremendously enjoyable!

by Noel on 4/4/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

I was hesitant about Hamilton because I do not care for rap music and because I wondered if it would live up to the hype. A friend's recommendation convinced me to buy tickets, and I actually was lucky enough to end up going twice. The music was more varied than I expected and very enjoyable. Joseph Morales did not disappoint as Alexander Hamilton. Ta'Rea Campbell as Angelica had the voice of an angel. King George played by Conroe Brooks was a riot and earned laughs at both performances I attended. However, the real show stealer was George Washington played by Marcus Choi. He has a beautiful, powerful voice and a stage presence that really stood out. I may find out where the show goes next and take a trip!

    It was incredible, didn’t disappoint!

by J. Odom on 4/4/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

My comments are in no way complaints, I had zero complaints! Seats were comfortable. Temperature was fine. Audio was perfect. Performance was incredible. The Saenger is a dream location to watch shows. We got there when the doors opened and stayed in the lobby. Then the next set of doors open... It seemed silly that we waited so long before the theatre doors opened. It was very packed out there. Again show was excellent. Disappointed in the George Washington character, he didn’t have a strong enough voice for role. EVERYONE else was perfect! Intermission was a bit short for the packed bathrooms. I was afraid I wouldn’t make it back and I went straight to a line. It was incredible. We hope you bring Hamilton back again!

    Best Modern Day Musical Ever

by NewOrleansNative on 4/4/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

Music and dancing never stopped from start to finish. Cast members were extremely professional and amazing voices. Made you laugh, cry and everything in between. Will go see again, since I'm sure there are things I may have missed getting the first time.

    Great Rap Play

by Jimmy G on 4/4/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

Yes, this is done at a very rapid talking to music.... so like RAPPING. That’s how the history goes. Lots of information quick. The players annunciate excellent, but pay close attention. Ask ALEXIA to play the songs before you go.

Lives up to all you’ve heard

by J. on 4/4/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

Having heard nothing but how great this play is for the past few years-I was worried it wouldn’t cover the hype. Wrong. It was fantastic (but you probably know this already). Do whatever you have to to see it-as many times as you can.

    Hamilton Reigns

by trichard65 on 4/3/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

What an awesome production of Hamilton! All the voices were top notch especially the ladies!! The pacing is very fast so no downtime. Never looked at my watch as I was so into the show. Only down point is the legroom that is pretty tight.

    BEST MUSICAL EVER!!

by BDe on 4/3/19Fisher Theatre - Detroit

This show was a complete winner from start to finish. My only issue was, of course, the cost of the regular tickets. I was lucky enough to get ticket at a discounted price (just pure luck in timing) otherwise I would never have been able to afford to see it at almost $1,000 for 2 tickets. Everyone in the touring troupe was excellent. I'd see this show again if I could.

    Definitely want more!

by Teach Music to Kids. on 4/3/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

I will be the first to say that the show would improve if I was closer, so I can see the faces of the people, but other than that a great show. The actor playing Hamilton was a bit hesitant at first, but as the numbers started being performed, there was more of the personality of Hamilton being heard from the show. He was near perfect after that. Everyone was on point for the performance. I hope that the show returns, so I can watch from the orchestra seats instead of the balcony.
