About

Formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, Guns N' Roses are one of the best-selling rock acts in history. Apart from more than 100 million records sold worldwide (including their 18-times platinum debut Appetite for Destruction), the group is also a formidable live act, regularly selling out stadiums and headlining major festivals. They performed for the first time as Guns N' Roses in June 1985 at the Troubadour in Hollywood, Calif. and have hardly left the road since, though the band has undergone various lineup changes. The 2016-2019 Not In This Lifetime… Tour — which featured classic lineup members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan performing together for the first time since 1993 — is one of the highest-grossing runs in history. To date, Guns N’ Roses have grossed $774.1 million and sold 9.6 million tickets over 453 shows.

    Great band terrible audio

by FJRL on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Black Keys were amazing in terms of audio and performance overall. That stated had higher expectations with Guns N Roses, however I was deeply disappointed with the overall sound. Unsure if it's venue related or audio engineer but a lot of the overall sound was crushed and could barely hear Axl's voice, the only redeeming song was Knockin' on Heanen's Door as it sounded good overall. Again, this could be venue related as with past concerts at the Holywood Bowl experience with sound has been a Rollercoaster as sometimes bands sound great other times horrible and this time Guns N Roses sound was terrible for a great band like that it's truly disappointing that the venue or sound engineer can't deliver higher audio quality.

    Sound issues

by Saratonin on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I recorded several songs and everyone of them had a significant sound muffle at the end of verse 1 and transition to verse 2!! I was in front of the sound booth-should have been better than the rest of the HBowl. Also, noticed when the visuals on the backdrop changed at timing referenced, that is when the sound became muffled. Coincidence??

    GNR

by Sydvid on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Axl Rose lost his voice and couldn’t sing in his iconic fashion. Really disappointing as we paid a lot for tickets. The Hollywood Bowl venue was nice but the traffic was terrible. 2 hours of waiting to get there and find parking. We missed the entire performance of the Black Keys who we heard were fantastic. Only redeeming factor was Slash who never disappoints.

    Phenomenal Show

by JB on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The first 45 min Guns ‘n Roses performed, the sound system had malfunctioning issues and it sounded horrible. However, after the issue was resolved, it was a phenomenal concert. I have a new-found respect for how well Slash masters the guitar. Overall, great performance by Guns ‘n Roses.

    Worse night ever

by Lrod on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

No joke I’ve gone to over 500 concerts. In what world does main act come on at 7:30 that’s an opener time slot . And tell Me why it took 1 hour 45 minutes to exit the freeway and park ? Who’s in charge at the bowl over there? I’ve been to 25 different venues never ever have I had an issue like that . I’ve been to the bowl at least a dozen times as well I never have missed a show until Thursday night . No problem my eta was 6:45 ….. again I say was . Got into the show at 8:20 after trying to get off the freeway and park 2 miles away since the lot was full

    Audio Issues

by For the love of music on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I was so excited to see Guns and Roses but ended up being completely disappointed. The audio kept cutting in and out for the first hour of the show. It was so bad that we left the concert halfway through. I’ve never had a bad concert experience like this before.

    First Guns N Roses show.

by mrchitlin on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This was my first time seeing Guns N Roses. The long set list was good. There seemed to be some issues with the sound for Axl's vocals, but the banded sounded good, Slash was awesome.

    Was not impressed

    by Kade33 on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I’ve seen GNR several times and they have always been amazing but not tonight. The sound was awful. I couldn’t hear Axle at all. The first 30 minutes the crowd was bored cause nobody knew the songs they were playing. Finally they played sweet child of mine and the crowd went nuts! It was Very disappointing to say the least. I guess i will stick to listening to them on the music apps.

    Fantastic Show!

by JJ on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I have been a Guns N’ Roses fan since their very early days playing on the Sunset Strip in the 80’s and have LOVED them for decades! I’ve seen them play many times over the years. I was blown away by how fantastic they played at the Hollywood Bowl show! They all looked terrific too! Of course my attention was mainly on the 3 original members Axl, Slash and Duff, but the rhythm guitarist who’s been with Axl for over 20 years is terrific too and fits in well. I just love this band and I’m sooooo glad that the three of them put their difference aside, grew up & out of their resistance to play together and have joined forces by touring over the last few years. Seeing them play at the HWB was a real treat too!!

    Underwhelmed

by MP on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Love gnr. This is the 3rd time I’ve seen them. Axl’s voice was shot though. Not sure if it’s due to back to back nights. They did 6 less songs than the night before.

    It was okay

by Priscilla on 11/5/23Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

First time at the hollywood bowl, second time seeing GnR. The hollywood bowl feels like it’s not meant to have anything other than front row seats. Seats in M1 section and felt like sound was muted. Felt like I was listening to “welcome to the jungle” from another room.
