The Greyboy Allstars are excellent. Any of the members of GBA would be the best player in any other band but they’re all here together! Super tight breaks, everyone was one cue and the dynamics were intense. Quite honestly, they blew my MIND! I never miss GBA when they come to my town, and neither should you, you’re guaranteed to have a great time if you like good music.
GBA are a national treasure. For going on 30 years now they have been laying down the dirtiest grooves you will ever hear. Super tight changes, dynamics, syncopations - these guys really listen to each other and after all these years they still love playing together. The Teragram Ballroom show on 11/26/21 marked their return to the stage after the pandemic had put live shows in mothballs for close to 2 years. They were raring to go - you could see and feel their joy and energy. They had as much fun on the stage playing together as we had in the audience. And the Teragram is a GREAT ROOM! Great sound, cozy feel, well managed, cool DTLA location. Karl, Aaron, Chris, Mike, and Robert - THANK YOU for such a marvelous show! Please come up to the Bay Area sometime soon. :)
If you like to dance The Greyboy Allstars will keep you going all night. And i mean throwing down the funky jams non stop! You wont be able to move when they are done. They are so tight as a group. They do lots of funky jazz. Karl Denson is a badass! He has another band Karl Densons Tiny Universe. He also plays sax for The Rolling Stones when they tour. Just saying. You can go wrong with anything Karl Denson is envolved in. Go see them!!
GBA was funky as ever and kept the crowd dancing until the end. Karl had a variety instruments that he used throughout to add a little something as well as let the other players stretch. The guitar player was key and kept the funky rythms playing. I had a picture in my mind of the music and I wasn't disappointed.
A good band, who really put on a great show. Excellent musiciansn and a nice variet of music. The opening act, Oregone, was great as well. An enjoyable evening out with the wife!!
This show was funkalicious! I had not seen them before, and I was more than impressed. Pretty funky/jazzy/rock-jammy.. not too hippydippy. I saw them on New Year's Eve, and they played until 2:00am. Certainly worth the price. They are now on my concert radar, so I'll be looking for opps to see them again soon.
