The team's colors are green, orange, ecru and black, and their mascot is Guilford the Grasshopper. The team has been known by different nicknames throughout its history, including the Patriots, Pirates, Yankees, Hornets, Bats, and their current name, the Grasshoppers.

The team's home stadium is First National Bank Field and it's located in downtown Greensboro. The stadium opened in 2005 and replaced the old War Memorial Stadium, which had been the team's home for many years. With a capacity of 7,499 fans, First National Bank Field has hosted several notable events, including the South Atlantic League All-Star Game in 2011 and the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Tournament in 2010 and 2011.

Throughout their history, the Greensboro Grasshoppers have achieved several notable successes. In 1920, the team won its first championship in the newly-formed Piedmont League. They won the league title again in 1926, and in 1930, they began a five-year affiliation with the St. Louis Cardinals. After a hiatus from professional baseball in the late 1960s, the team returned to Greensboro in 1979 and won the South Atlantic League championship in 1982.

In recent years, the Greensboro Grasshoppers have continued to achieve success on the field. In 2011, they won the South Atlantic League championship for the first time in 29 years. In 2021, they finished the season with a record of 74-46 and qualified for the playoffs, ultimately losing in the championship series.
