I was in the palm of Carey Mulligan hands

by jentoyou on 7/25/18Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

Wow. The strong start had me laughing and smiling so hard my face hurt. By the middle of the play I was in an honest conversation with a friend. By the end of this play I was stunned. This character felt like a friend of mine. And that's a tribute to the writing and the acting. And then life happens to this character/friend. And with wit and sincerity she tells us the good and the bad about her life. I truly cannot stop thinking about this play. And that's the best kind. I'm so grateful I saw it.

Tour de force. So well written and executed. Carey Mulligan should do more theater.

    great acting job.

by Jeffmanoman on 7/24/18Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

While the acting was impressive, I had a little trouble understanding some of the dialog, due to the accent. I found people in the audience laughing and I didn't know why. Other than that, it was a nice show. After a while I began understanding the dialog better. I don't know if I just became used to the accent, or if the accent was diminished.

Carey Mulligan was so great in this one-woman play. Limited run - already over. So glad we saw her in the play .

Girls and Boys, and Carey Mulligan - FANTASTIC

by HarCon on 7/24/18Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

What a fantastic 90 minutes! We encouraged several friends to also see the show before it closed, and they loved it (and her) as well. Intelligent, thought- and feeling-provoking ... great theater can challenge, teach, elevate, and inspire! Wow!

    Hearing Aids?

by Farfugium on 7/23/18Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

We were sitting halfway back and could barely. hear Miss Mulligan. She didn't seem to be wired for sound and we strained to hear. Very poor stage management. Also plot was very odd. Started as a witty comedy and descended to a major tragedy. Not prepared for that!

    Unforgettable

by ShannonCA on 7/23/18Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

One of the most outstanding shows I’ve seen. Carey Mulligan has a stage presence that if off the charts - strong, articulate, gorgeous, soulful. She carried the beautiful architecture of the play through to the very end. Beautiful.

Interesting play (story) but it’s Carey mulligan that makes it mesmerizing. See it for her.
