"I ain't really happy," sings Gary Allan on "Get Off on the Pain," the down-home masterstroke that begins and provides the name for his new MCA Nashville collection, "until the sky starts driving rain." Unhesitatingly frank, mercilessly guitar-crazed, it's the rocked-out country confession of a smart guy drawn to what the rest of the world calls wrong roads and long shots, or complains of as aching bones and stubbornness, or — as Allan sings in a spectacular stretch of drawn-out soulful vowels — underestimates as dark horses. And as the California-born superstar releases his eighth studio album, it's about the most Gary Allan piece anyone could imagine.

My wife and I have seen Gary Allan 5-6 times and he’s better every time we see him again. During the last show, he song 22 songs and each one was GREAT!!!!! I can’t wait to see him again!!!!
His songs are so good! It ain’t the whiskey is one of my favorites!
This is the fourth time I have seen him and he’s always amazing. Can’t wait to go see him again.
Gary Allan is easily the most underrated country music artist of our generation! He’s an exceptional entertainer!! His fan following speaks for its self!! I look forward to every GA concert within driving distance for me!!!! Outstanding show!!
Look, Gary Allan is an amazing artist! We knew that going into the concert. But none of us expected it to be even better the older we have “all” gotten! The man is amazing, lyrics are superb and on point! Would definitely go see him again anytime he’s in this area. Thank you Gary for all the years brother!
I have been lucky enough to see Gary Allan twice. He sounds great and puts out a great show. My wife was impressed with him playing 4 or 5 different guitars during his set. His band is fantastic!
This was our 3rd time seeing Gary Allan. He always puts on a great show. I guess only complaint would be the alcohol lines at Beau Rivage. You miss half the show trying to get a beer. They need to consider selling buckets of beer with ice, experienced this at another casino venue and things were much smoother.
Great performance, high energy. Sang all the hits and sounds exactly the same as day 1 on the radio! Loved it!
I love Gary Allan. He is such an entertainer. He puts on a great show and you can tell he is just happy being up there signing with us all. I never miss him when he comes to Baton Rouge, Biloxi or anywhere near New Orleans. He needs to come to New Orleans.
