About Garden Brothers Circus

Garden Brothers Circus on Tour

You don’t become North America’s longest-running circus troupe by resting on your laurels, and for its 2021 extravaganza, the Garden Brothers Circus stages its most extreme, over-the-top show ever. Garden Brothers Nuclear Circus: Humans Gone Wild features such breathtaking feats as the “Human Slingshot,” “Motorcycles in the Sphere of Fear,” and the infamous “Wheel of Death” (a massive, vertically rotating structure on which acrobats perform death-defying stunts). But it’s not just humans going wild in this show - the Olate Performing Dogs (as seen on America’s Got Talent) will also make an appearance. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Garden Brothers Circus without such classic carnival attractions as jugglers, trapeze artists and a demonstration from the world’s strongest man. Bring the kids early to meet the performers, get face-painted like a superhero and take a ride down the Monster Slide.

Garden Brothers Background

America had the Ringling Bros., and Canada had the Garden Brothers. Both began as small family businesses before setting the gold standard for big-top entertainment in the 20th century. But with the Ringlings’ circus leaving town for good in 2017, the Garden Brothers now stand as North America’s longest-running carnival revue. Its roots date back to the 1920s, when Scottish emigré William Garden and his wife Jean began touring as a song-and-dance act called Garden & Shaw, sowing the seeds for the official launch of the Garden Bros. Circus in 1938. After William passed away in 1954, his Montreal-based sons Ian and Bill assumed control of the operation and turned it into a touring juggernaut, with Ian playing double duty as animal trainer and ringmaster, while his wife Micheline oversaw the technical aspects. After three successful decades at the helm, the couple passed down the reins to their children Richard and Ian Jr., who eventually handed them off to a cousin, ensuring that the Garden Bros. Circus has remained in the family after a century of spectacles.

    Entertainment while getting frauded! Yay!

    by Basic Mom on 4/28/22

While all circus acts are entertaining, Garden Bros entertains while stealing all your card info!! Hiding somewhere in the online sales, food stands with no listed price ahead of time, or the light up toys they walk through every isle till you get tired of telling your kid no and you just buy one....they get all the card numbers along the way. Not only myself but HUNDREDS of moms in a 3 day weekend had THOUSANDS in fraud charges. Easily paying their doordash, and uber during travel.....while ending with Egypt Air flights out of NY. (Not even kidding. I had 2k worth of Flight charges out of country) My warning to all parents because its obvious they travel scamming and knowing the people won't get word to the next state who have no idea whats coming. Save your money or use all cash.

    Disappointed

by RobinaS on 2/14/21Crossroads Arena - Corinth

While I enjoyed parts of the show the MULTIPLE parts that were so disappointing was the girls that had most of their butts exposed, dressed and dancing like strippers. My 8 year olds asked “why are the girls not wearing hardly any clothes”. We won’t go back. This is supposed to be a show for kids. They don’t need to see that!

    NEEDS MORE IMPROVEMENT

    by d. s. on 2/2/21Ford Park - Beaumont

1 dancer had no rhythm & there was no synchronized dancing. LOL there was no hype to any of the different acts the aerial yoga shouldnt have been performed if they cant be in sync or perfected. it was very amateurish, im glad i didnt have to pay more than 15$ for each person

    Weak

    by E. H. on 3/11/20VSU Multi-Purpose Center - Petersburg

I'm use to the circus where we get to see animals such as elephants and tigers. The kids voucher advertised camels, but never saw any come out. Saw the prop for the human cannonball but that didn't happen in the show. Granted, the circus was probably entertaining to the younger crowd, but it lacked the wow factor. It was a let down to get suckered in with a "free" kids ticket, just to get beat across the head with the cost of the paraphernalia and the extra kid zone.... but I guess they have to charge those prices to pay the employees. It was nice to see a circus come through town since Barnum and Bailey went out of business, but this is not a circus I'd be willing to pay for again whenever they come back.

    The circus was borrriing!!!

    by I. W. on 3/11/20VSU Multi-Purpose Center - Petersburg

First off they only had donkeys and horses. When you think of a Circus, I was thinking elephants, lions, tigers....Exotic animals. An the women were dressed a little provocative for a kids show. I had front row seats and was asked to move many times because they had to bring water to the stage or walk a horse to the stage by my chair. They had this super long intermission for no reason. It just wasn't what I thought it would be. This was my first time attending this circus, and I wont be returning.

Very disappointing. Not at all what was on their website.

    by K. on 3/11/20VSU Multi-Purpose Center - Petersburg

Not worth the money. The only animals they had were horses in the show. The aerial routines were not very good and the dancers were horrible. The show was not at all like the advertisement on their website

    Insane Fair fare prices

by Tasha on 3/10/20VSU Multi-Purpose Center - Petersburg

The circus was fine, a little too long in mine and other parents opinions. Some people left during intermission. Why an intermission? To make more money of course! $14 per child for face painting, $12 for each snow cone/candy apple, $7 per child to jump in the bouncy castle. Just insane prices, and I brought 2 children!! The venue was very nice, clean and convenient parking.

    Room for improvement

    by C. on 3/10/20VSU Multi-Purpose Center - Petersburg

The circus was fun but a little disappointing. On the child’s coupon it stated there would be a human cannonball and there wasn’t. Just a bit of a disappointment on that and the lack of a Ringmaster made it feel a little cheesy.

by Dria on 3/10/20VSU Multi-Purpose Center - Petersburg

I took my family and we all had a great time. I have a 1 year old and 4 year old and they both enjoyed the show laughing and smiling in amazement.

The circus was a good show except the attraction was a bit high than expected should everything been free paid for the tickets and show everything should be free popcorn and the windmill wand everything else should be free.
