About

G Jones in Concert

Coming off a tour with Porter Robinson earlier this year, G Jones now focuses on the biggest moment of his career so far — the release of his proper full-length debut, ‘The Ineffable Truth,' and its supporting tour. And Jones said on his Instagram that he's been "Dreaming up The Ineffable Truth live show all day and night!" Dubbed a "Live A/V Tour," the show sets out to cement the producer as one of the next big bass music acts. Jones cut his chops on tour with artists like Bassnectar and DJ Shadow, the latter of which collaborated with him for the mysterious Nite School Klik project. Where Jones has always found himself moving to the beat of twisted 808 beats alongside sinister and apocalyptic visuals, ‘The Ineffable Truth' adds melody and harmonics to his acidic Ableton compositions. In incorporating elements of old-school and ragga drum 'n' bass on tracks like "Time" and "That Look in Your Eye," Jones has opened up the possibility for truly linear visual themes in his live show, à la his well-accomplished collaborators in DJ Shadow and Bassnectar. Catch G Jones on The Ineffable Truth tour all across the United States until March 2019.

G Jones Background

Born and still residing in the Bay Area, 26-year-old producer Greg Jones started playing guitar when he was nine, later layering his guitar over drums. While at school at UC Santa Cruz, he discovered dubstep, and his career in bass music and the G Jones moniker were born. He released his first EP in 2013 and by 2014 started collaborating with fellow Santa Cruz resident Bassnectar, who took him on tour and featured G Jones on the track "The Mystery Spot," the first of many collaborations for the pair. Jones has released full collaboration EPs with notable up-and-coming bass music producers Bleep Bloop and Eprom and released the glitch-packed ‘Visions' EP on his own Illusory Records label. ‘The Ineffable Truth' marks his first full-length endeavor, out October 26, 2018, on Illusory.

    Wasted Talent

by Bass Snob on 4/8/24Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

Pound for pound, the lineup was one of the best we’ve gotten in South Florida since I’ve lived here. Missed Sayer but Chee was incredible, Hamdi was solid, and G Jones was great. Visual production was on point. The problem, as always with BLNK CNVS, was the sound. Subwoofers exist for a reason, please use them. This is sound system music. If given the choice between seeing that lineup with zero visuals and a Function rig or what I saw the other night, I’d take the first choice a million out of a million times.

    great set, all things considered

by l1fef0rm on 1/24/24The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

No live show in Philly due to gear not arriving to the venue in time, but he delivered a great DJ set in its absence. Yes, pretty disappointed that I didn't get the show I bought tickets for, but still had a great time.

    A night to remember!

by Margaroo on 11/12/23The Joy Theater - New Orleans

The supporting crew for Gjones did an incredible job hyping the energy up in the place. Lunice blew the roof off. The lights and visuals for this show were beyond measure. This show was a truly beautiful experience. If you at all like this genre of music you will not be disappointed. Well worth the ticket price.
