    Interesting but unexpected

by KD on 1/30/24The Wilma - Missoula

Thinking you are going to watch back country skiing but finding out it was more of just outdoor experiences with an artsy flair was a little bit of a let down. It was not bad for what it was but some of the clips didn’t follow a thought process that would provoke much stimulating thought. Seemed more chaotic and unlinked. Other videos were dark. A few of the videos were actual skiing. The best message I came away with was just because you can get out there doesn’t mean you should be there. Make sure you are letting yourself grow into the experience and learning how to safely be there. We have the capability now to be where we don’t have experience to be. Fits my mantra, no matter how good I get at something, I’ll always think of myself as a novice. That way I keep learning!

by LAFriend on 12/15/11MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - Stateline

Enjoyed the work of the independent filmakers that were presented at the film festival. This is our second visit to the Tahoe Adventure film festival and the quality of the show continues to get better each time.

Film Fest is now on my list of must attend!!!

by mtntrvlr on 12/15/11MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - Stateline

Being a resident of the North Shore I don't often make it to South Shore events. That will now change after attending the LT Adventure Film Fest. Montblue is a great space, the crowd is fun, Todd did a wonderful job picking films to include and best of all some of the athletes are in attendance and very approachable to speak with while grabbing a drink at one of the bars during intermission and after the show. Not to mention the films are motivating and help you get excited for ski season! An all around winner. The only thing I would change would be to make it longer!

This was fun in a funky Tahoe way. Where else but Vegas do you get go-go dancers on stage and in the theater prior to a movie. The festival consisted of 2 groups of 4 fifteen minute films with raffle/ intermission in between the sets. The first film was bike tricks in an industrial park and it was novel and fun and got our juices flowing. Then 3 snowboarding films in a row... Half our group of 6 got bored and left. That was unfortunate as the last 4 films were a nice mix of biking, flying, climbing and skiing. I think the show would be better if the first half of the program were more diverse. You can only watch snowboarders jumping off cliffs and racing down chutes so many times. They are talented and brave but all very similar. It would be nice to see some other sports too such as kayaking. All in all it was enjoyable but not fabulous. Doubt we will go again. By the way, we had assigned seats but in reality it is first come first serve. The theather was sold out so it was crowded but we did manage to find "OK" seats for our group to sit together.
