About

TIM RICE and ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's Tony Award®-winning musical returns at last!
Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored."  Don't miss the stunning new production of EVITA, directed by MICHAEL GRANDAGE and choreographed by ROB ASHFORD, that Channel 4 New York calls “THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN!”

    Created by advocate for “Diversity”

    by Anonymous on 7/20/23

Two stars for the Gorgeous stage setting, great lighting. But audio needs a significant improvement, the sound was way too loud and noisy that disrupted a supposedly classic musical. And very apparently created by a team support diversity to an unnecessary degree. I support diversity myself, as I come from a minority community, but this is too much. Will I go again, or recommend this version to my friends? NO, save your money and buy a high quality copy of the Madonna version.

    Evita Braden Normal, IL

    by JK300 on 3/28/19Braden Auditorium - Normal

The cast was good, except Evita. She was putting her own "twist" on the songs, not using her vocals to their full capability, not in sink, and at times out of tune. What a shame, she made the play barely tolerable.

    Tepid at best

by Tracy on 3/27/19Braden Auditorium - Normal

I was extremely surprised to hear Che Guevara begin Act 1 with what seemed like an Irish lilt to his voice! The lighting people seemed to have trouble following the actors with spotlights. I really didn't care for where the actors were placing emphasis on phrasing, but that could have been a sound problem. Really didn't think the person playing Eva was suited to it. Noticeable and unpleasant switches to head voice throughout. Act 2 did seem a little better, oddly but Che should still not be Irish ;)

    OK but not great

by C. E. on 3/23/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little Rock

The performers who played Evita and Che Guevara were only OK. I have heard better singers in New York and Philadelphia

    Meh

I didn't get the emotional impact I was expecting from the experience. My seat block some of my view.

    Awful

by M. H. on 3/20/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little Rock

We left at intermission. I felt like I was watching a bad high school musical. It started late, looked very disjointed and disorganized, singing was screeching, I could go on and on.

    Fair performance

by Loves comedy on 3/19/19Robinson Performance Hall - Little Rock

Evita was fair, at best. It was hard to sit through the first hour, as it was so unappealing in the auditory sense. Also, the dancing was fair, and performed fairly poorly. The leads' voices were fair, and off-key many times. This was the worst performance I've seen in Little Rock since Blue Man Group, years ago. It cannot touch The Book of Mormon, which was great.

The the singing and dancing was very good. Especially liked the actual old photos in the background.
