    Definitely not worth it

    by Lucy on 11/10/23

This was not at all what we were expecting. It’s my fault for not reading the description. We were expecting it to be similar to the Encanto Live at the Hollywood Bowl show. It’s a movie on the big screens with a band that played some of the songs. That’s it. No characters! Nothing!

It was more of a movie, than live

by Grandma Bonnie on 10/16/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

The concept was great, the venue was very nice and parking was convenient. In the future a sing a long should entail more than watching a movie and singing along to it. The only interactive part was when we sang with the host singer to a "Moana"song, for the warm up. We brought our Grandkids ( 10 yr's old and 7yr's old ) and half way thru they asked us to leave saying, "Grandma we've seen this movie several times and all we are doing is watching it again." I had to agree with her. We paid a lot of money to go to the movies, and sing to the songs, while we watched on a not so big screen. We left at half time. In the future, it would have been better to have had the host lead the singing and silence the movie in the background. You also might want to start at 6:00 not 8:00pm, since your audience are children. Good luck with the next one.

Too expensive for just a movie

by Jav on 10/11/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Just to watch the movie and have an orchestra was not worth it. We thought it was going to be a sing along. Preview songs were more entertaining than the main show.

    Great

by Nena on 10/11/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

The experience was great and my kids loved it. The only thing I wish the theater we went to had snacks and drinks for the kids and popcorn, but I understand a big mess afterwards.

    Not worth it!

by Veronica A on 10/10/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

This was a move on the big screens with a band that played some of the songs and the band members dressed to the encanto theme, and the main character danced. I paid 500+ for 9 people and wish i would have saved my half of a THOUSAND dollars, and put it on in the living room. Would not recommend to anyone. I would voluntarily pay about $70 total for all of us to have that experience.

    Disappointed

by NF on 10/10/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

This was not at all what we were expecting. It’s somewhat my fault for not reading the fine print. We were expecting it to be similar to the Encanto Live at the Hollywood Bowl show that we’d watched on tv. My kids loved that! Danced and sang the whole time in our living room. So when I got a notice for a presale opportunity, I quickly spent $250 for our family of 4, several months in advance, and couldn’t wait to surprise them with a magical experience. Instead, my boys got excited with all the hype at the beginning of the show and quickly became bored. As basically, it was watching the Encanto movie on a screen that was much smaller than going to the movie theater, when they’d watched the movie at least 10 times previously at home. I will say that the orchestra was talented and the kids enjoyed the Latin music. We left 20 minutes early to avoid the crowd. Came home and watched the end of the movie on our living room tv and went to bed. Definitely not worth the money!

    Glorified Movie

by Alicia D. on 10/10/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

So basically, you’re just watching the movie and a live band plays for 6-7 songs. You’re paying to watch the movie… that’s it. There were even people yelling “this is a movie, not a sing a long”… so yah… a waste of money. The band was great, just wished it wasn’t sitting for in the dark for a majority of the night. I could’ve paid $15 to do that in a regular theater. And the 8 pm start time for a bunch of little ones was kinda ridiculous. It ended at 10 with crying, cranky and hungry little people everywhere.

    Disappointed!

by Jo on 10/10/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Not what we expected, thought it would be more interactive and sing along, didn’t need to show the whole movie , I could have stayed home and watched the movie and saved a lot of money!
