The band and backing singers sounded great-- but as always-- Elvis stole the show! The new technology produced visuals which were beautiful and so clear and Elvis delivered a masterful performance. No other entertainer has ever "owned" a stage as completely as Elvis Presley. His humor, warm personality, sexual magnetism, explosive energy, and amazing vocals made this concert a tasty dessert for all our sensory receptors.

Loved Elvis but not the sound

by sutatoo on 8/21/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

The band was good but the music was so loud that it was hard to hear Elvis singing. Sort of frustrating! Also, I was a bit disappointed that the whole concert was taken from "That's The Way It Is". As much as I love TTWII, I enjoy seeing Elvis' performances from other concerts or shows, too, and the idea of a "Elvis Live" concert is to present them in a way not usually shown on DVD. As for the "VIP Party": This was a complete disappointment. It was not a party, but a light-weight reception at the Rock and Soul Museum. For 45$ (in addition to the 45$ for the concert itself), we had free access to the museum and to a buffet (drinks not included). We also were given a lanyard and a sampler CD (promoting the new Elvis CD box). Elvis music was playing, but only as background music, and there was no dancing. That is not what I call a party!

    Elvis Live

It's unbelievable what technology can do. This concert was awesome - can't describe to anyone who didn't actually see it. If it toured, I'd see it 100 times!

    Truly he is the King

by LoriEH on 8/18/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

This concert was the highlight of our trip to Memphis. Close your eyes and you were hearing Elvis live. The effect of Elvis on the big screen and the magnificent studio musicians and singers who backed him up was truly amazing. if you have the chance to see this show, please do!

Elvis' Memory is alive and well

by Mariush on 8/17/11The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

I have seen this show before and it always amazes me just how wonderful it is to see the musicians play live behind Elvis. It is a wonderful tribute for anyone, especially Elvis fans who never got to see Elvis in person. Elvis on the big screen is a win win situation anytime. I can't wait to see what Priscilla, Jack Soden, Joe Guercio and the musicians come up with for the 35th.
