The Christmas carol was very enjoyable and so well staged. Both adults in children would enjoy it. We took our five-year-old granddaughter and she loved it as well. Drury Lane is a beautiful theater with comfortable seats . Visibility from all seats is pretty good. Great experience .
This show was billed as suitable for all ages. However it had some significantly scary parts for our 2 year old. It is best suited for 5 and up.
I have been to previous shows and thought this years performance was ok. I miss the real life props used in previous years and I also think the person who usually plays scrooge puts on a better performance. I will return however and would recommend the show to others.
Best show. Actors so good. Even some magic thrown into the show. Not too scary. And such a beautiful theater. Everyone should see this show with their family!
We’ve been coming to see a Christmas Carol for the past 10 years. We love it. Wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
I'm not sure why this performance was marked "For Young Audiences", because we thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting was superb, the sets were authentic and the overall performance was stellar. I would definitely consider making this a Christmas tradition!
0 stars. I was visiting my family for Christmas from NY with two young children 2.5 and 5years old. Their grandmother treated us thinking it was a family appropriate show for Christmas but we were disappointed to see how dark a depressing the plot and set were for the majority of the performance. They failed to adapt it for young audiences. I had to cover my kids eyes during several scenes because of how scary the characters and set looked. My 5 year old left asking why the Christmas show was not happy and said they didn’t explain the events in “words that kids know”. Will never attend again and will not recommend.
So enjoyed the Christmas Carol . Actors, seating, lighting and stage props were excellent. Nice atmosphere and beautiful theater. A beautiful well told story for all ages.
We have been coming to this play for many years and have always loved it. This year was different. While ticket prices were the same, it seems they went very low budget. There were fewer actors, fewer props, and almost no scenery. It felt like we were at a high school performance or "Our Town" only with higher quality actors. We let each of our kids bring a friend (high school age) and it was a major disappointment. They were unimpressed. To top it off, the ghost of Christmas Present was played by a woman which really took away from the play. Sad to say, but this tradition has come to an end for us, we will not be returning.
Have only good things to say. The venue was conducive to a great experience. Thought the cast did a great job. The actor playing Scrooge did a great job with that role. Have seen different versions via movies, think I enjoyed this more. Kudos to the actors and support staff for making a great experience.
