DIRTY LOOPS IN CONCERT:

It's hard to tell who has the most fun at a Dirty Loops concert. Is it the crowd, treated to a groovy set brimming with uniquely arranged pop fusion jams? Or is it the trio onstage, serving up a delicious cocktail of jazz and pop blended with '70s and '80s R&B funk? It's a toss-up, as the Swedish collective ensures their live performances are joyous and unforgettable experiences for everyone. Stellar musicianship takes center stage at the band's shows, which feature drummer Aron Mellergardh's powerhouse percussion skills alongside bassist Henrik Linder's slick bass lines. Helming the show is frontman Jonah Nilsson, whose piercing falsetto and huge range recall legends like Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. The top-notch production and polished arrangements of their recorded songs translate beautifully to the stage, and Dirty Loops continue to stun ticket buyers with note-perfect performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bassist Henrik Linder, drummer Aron Mellergardh, and vocalist/keyboardist Jonah Nilsson formed Dirty Loops in 2008 while attending the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. The trio's big break came when their version of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" racked up a whopping 100,000 views on YouTube in just two months. They followed it up with creative covers of pop songs by Justin Bieber, Adele, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. The viral videos caught the attention of Swedish producer/songwriter Andreas Carlsson, who promptly signed them to a management deal. Producer/songwriter David Foster then signed the group to Universal Music subsidiary Verve Records and brought them on his 2012 Asian tour. The band released their debut album Loopified in 2014, which boasts two covers and 10 original tracks including standout single "Hit Me". Their 2014-2015 Loopified tour is taking them through Europe, the U.S., and Asia, delivering their energetic shows to crowds all over the world.

    Too many problems

by Grumpy on 4/23/24White Oak Music Hall - Downstairs - Houston

Doors open at 8…okay sort-of late but whatever. Finally an opener at 9. Oh wait it’s a DJ playing tunes I could hear on the radio…wow. Thirty minutes after the amplified FM radio set is over the band finally comes out. Standing around for 2.5 hours including the line outside. Finally we get to hear this awesome band. Oh wait! The sub woofers are so loud I can’t hear any other instrument. I can barely hear the singer! One of the worse concert experiences I’ve ever had. For a band I’ve waited years to see. Truly a disappointment. We left early. No hate to the band, except starting a little late but still an overal bad experience.

    Freakin Amazing

by April in Texas on 4/22/24The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

Literally jaw dropping performance! These guys have talent that won't quit. They sound just as good live if not better than on album. There where parts that I thought were tracked but were not. Incredible! I can't say enough good things. Amazing energy, they seemed to be having a great time on stage, it radiated to the audience. If I ever get a chance to see them again, I will and I'm bringing all my friends.

by Des on 4/22/24The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

Best concert I’ve ever been too. The musicality was out of this world. That band was in the pocket, outside, next to, etc. I hope they come back to the states soon!

    The Commodore, WORST SOUND

by Michael D. on 4/14/24Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I am a musician and was, for 25 years, a location and studio sound engineer. Dirty Loops is one of my favourite bands. They are superlative, in my humble opinion. Unfortunately, the sound "engineering", and I use the term loosely, at the Commodore in Vancouver, BC was the worst! In fact, this is the second show I've attended there where I've walked out - NOT because of the band, but because of the unbelievably BAD SOUND. It is whomever is "at the board", not the sound system - and, I know this BECAUSE I've seen several shows in the same venue with BRILLIANT sound!!!!! I know the gear at the Commodore, I know what it's potential is and it's capabilities - BUT it all depends on "who is in control of the mixing board"! Whomever it was for the Dirty Loops show does great disservice to the band, the sound system and the Commodore. To further support my opinion, I've been to a show with Dirty Loops at another venue (in Seattle), similar size, similar system - and the sound was amazing! I couldn't have done better myself.

    Not what I expected

by Nate S on 4/8/24House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

...because it exceeded my expectations! Dirty Loops is just as amazing live as they are on their albums. What an amazing show! I cannot wait for the next tour!

    Virtuosic funk-jazz-R&B superhuman musicians👏🏼🙌🏼

by Funky Scott on 4/7/24The Underground - Charlotte

Outstanding! Bravissimo!! Dirty Loops are beyond category. The most perfect band that possesses higher levels of musicianship, hipness, funkiness and authenticity us mere mortals cannot fathom. What planet are these cats from? Seriously inspiring to see so many folks/musicians at this show from all walks of life & musical tastes supporting Dirty Loops and singing along to their incredible riffs/licks! These guys pulled it off LIVE!. Sounded just as phenomenal as the recordings if not better in concert🤘🏼. Hopefully a live album to come? You can’t help but love these cats ✌🏼 such an otherworldly-authentic-hip-virtuosic vibe. Inspired me to immediately go home and practice my bass until the wee hours😛
