Reyes began her performing career at the age of six; by eight, she had cut her first hit Mexican singles “Barrios y Escuela” and “Cristo Rey.” Around this time, Reyes came under the guidance of legendary Mexican ranchera singer Lola Beltrán; her influence can be heard in Reyes’ traditional style of vocalization. Since then, Reyes has had several hit records, including "La Reina del Pasito Duranguense" (which sold hundreds of thousands of copies) and "Te Voy a Mostrar."
