This was our first chance to see Delta Rae live after discovering them through a livestream event they did for Duke University in the summer of 2020. After that event, we collected all of the band's music, joined their awesome "Behind The Door" experience, and anxiously counted down the days until we could see them live.
I have been to hundreds of concerts by hundreds of bands over the years, and this concert is easily in my top 3. Delta Rae is one of those bands you must experience live to get the full effect of how amazing they are. There really aren't words to describe it except to say it's about as close to a religious experience as it's possible for me to have. They truly have no songs I don't like, which is, I believe, a first for me out of all of my favorite bands, but the setlist was a perfect balance between songs from the two albums they've released since they toured (The Light and The Dark) and older material. You go between smiling so wide your face hurts, to dancing, to shedding tears, to standing in awe of the musicianship and vocal abilities coming from the stage.
I will never miss another show in our area (and travel is definitely a possibility as well).
Sadly, the Raleigh concert was the last date of this tour, so you'll have to wait until the next time to see them, but do not miss your chance!
