    The Best

    by Pete S. on 11/1/22Aura - Portland

We saw Dean Ford at Aura in Portland, Maine this past weekend. Let me start by saying that it was one of the most entertaining shows that I've seen in awhile. Dean opened with his original material which was fantastic! My girlfriend and I were on our feet dancing the whole time! Just when we thought the show couldn't get any better, Dean started the second part which is when he becomes Dean Ford & The Beautiful Ones which is a tribute to Prince. I unfortunately never got to see the real Prince in concert but I saw enough videos and live performances on tv to know that Dean and his group were spot on! He performed many songs by Prince including most of the Purple Rain album. This show was phenomenal from beginning to end!

    THE ENERGY WAS SICK

by DJ WRIGZ on 4/27/22Wally's - Hampton

DEAN FORD AND THE BEAUTIFUL ONES did Prince proud! Down to the small waisted, adorable sweetheart Dean himself. I like he started out with the more obscure songs and then changed into PURPLE RAIN clothes and ripped into the hits. Musically and esthetically pleasing baby!

    More than I wanted

by Jem on 4/5/22The Queen - Wilmington

I paid for a Prince tribute show. 10 mins late the band started with the lead singer announcing they are playing their original music “whether you like it or not”. They played their music for an hour then spent another 45 minutes before taking to the stage for the Prince set. The music is not good and the sound at the venue didn’t help matters. We left 4 songs into the the show I paid to see.

    Purple Brainz

    by s. on 10/29/19Aura - Portland

Love Dean Ford but this year’s Purple Brainz was my least favorite simply because of the venue. I dislike Aura immensely. Dean never disappoints and I hope this show moves back to the State next year.

    Awesome

    by a. on 10/29/19Aura - Portland

For Prince fans, Dean Ford is the next best thing. He played more songs than expected and the costume changes were appropriate to the era of Prince's evolution.

    exceeded my expectations

by j.Walsh on 10/28/19Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

Dean Ford and the Beautiful Ones were far better than I expected. I am a musician myself and appreciate how tight their performance was. They moved seamlessly from one song to another and Dean appeared to be a very talented band leader. I would love to see Dean doing something other than Prince (although he really has Prince nailed). this was a very entertaining show and aside from Dean, I especially loved the bass and horns. Well done. I would not sit in the first row of tables the next time I come to this venue. It is way too close to the stage and pretty uncomfortable. other than that, there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
