About

Daði Freyr on Tour

The eccentric Daði Freyr is an Icelandic electric-pop singer, songwriter and musician. Although Freyr has been making music for over a decade, he is best known for his 2020 ultra-viral single "Think About Things." He is set to commence his 15-stop 2022 tour across the United States and Canada. Freyr's live performances are filled with upbeat, synth-heavy hooks, funky instrumentals and plenty of danceable tracks, making his show a must-see for all EDM and pop-loving fans. Starting his solo career in 2017 with his EP Næsta Skref, Freyr has continued to produce a number of singles such as "Skiptir Ekki Máli," "I Thought I'd Be More Famous by Now (Daði Freyr Remix)," "Heyri Ekki,'' and "Endurtaka Mig." He released his first album, & Co., in 2019, and followed that album with popular songs "Think About Things" in 2020 and "10 years" in 2021.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Freyr started his musical career in 2012 with electric pop band Retrobot. In 2012, Retrobot won the annual Icelandic battle of the bands contest, Músíktilraunir. Shortly after, Freyr moved to Berlin where he began studying music production with the goal to win the Eurovision Song Contest. His 2017 song "Is This Love?" was submitted for Söngvakeppni, the Icelandic song contest that decides the entry into Eurovision. "Is This Love?" didn't win Söngvakeppni, but it introduced the talented Daði Freyr to the musical community. His 2020 song "Think About Things" did win Söngvakeppni and was set to be a strong contender in Eurovision until the shutdown of the contest due to COVID-19. Although falling short of his Eurovision dreams, "Think About Things" became an international hit and overnight sensation, garnering online praise from celebrities including Russell Crowe and Jennifer Garner. "Think About Things" received a silver record in the UK, was listed at No. 6 on TIME magazine's Top 10 Songs of 2020 and currently has more than 118 million streams on Spotify.

    Band: Awesome. Venue: Sucked

by Kristin on 4/18/24The Van Buren - Phoenix

Dadi Freyr was fantastic! They put on an amazing show that was unfortunately completely ruined by a vibrating/rattling metal wall throughout the entire show in response to the tiniest amount of bass. Folks from the middle of the floor were coming over by the bathrooms to try to see what was making so much noise. The balcony seating also used to be first come, first served but is now an additional $40 per person at the venue if you want to go up there. I'm not sure I'll go back to a show at the Van Buren.

    Amazing High Energy Show

by JC on 4/8/24White Oak Music Hall - Downstairs - Houston

Dadi brings a wealth of energy and showmanship, and the Houston crowd matched and exceeded his enthusiasm, for a show that no one will soon forget. From the improvised song about Buckees to the the cover of a Willie Nelson song, it was a red letter night.

Great introduction and now a new fan!

by Reb on 4/5/24The Van Buren - Phoenix

Tickets to the concert were a gift from my daughter. I was blissfully unaware of Dadi Freyr before this gift and was unsure but boy! I am so glad she gifted me these tickets. He is incredibly talented as a musician but also as a performer! He was funny, genuine and engaging. He interacted well with the crowd and seems to be able to do so regardless of the size of the venue. The staff at the venue were nice and I felt safe. I would definitely recommend Dadi Freyr as a concert and The Van Buren as a concert venue.

    Fabulous and Wonderful and Nice

by Shoushou on 3/23/24The Depot - Salt Lake City

Daði Freyr is just one of those artists that has it all: his music is amazing, his voice is a killer, and he is so nice and funny. The concert was amazing in every way. He is so good at interacting with the public and still playing a lot of songs. Really one of the best concerts I've been to!

    Highly Engaging and Entertaining

by HBPL on 3/22/24Summit - Denver

Daði, along with Ylva and Hafsteinn, are an exceptional trio. They are highly energetic and will keep you energized for their entire set. Their recent show at Summit was just as worthwhile as when we experienced them in 2022 at the 9:30 Club. They absolutely earned their way into the Lollapalooza lineup this August 2024 because of how well they perform in smaller venues and the larger ones overseas. Spend your ticket money wisely on Daði Freyr.

Great venue and a terrific performance

by JeremiahA on 3/14/24Big Night Live - Boston

I recently attended a Daði Freyr concert at "Big Night Live"in Boston, which proved to be an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was both vibrant and intimate, a testament to Daði's ability to captivate and connect with his audience. His performance was a brilliant display of intelligence, humor, and vocal talent, ensuring that everyone was engaged and entertained throughout the night. A standout moment for me was the VIP experience before the show, where we had the opportunity to meet Daði personally and hear an intimate acoustic version of his newest song. This special interaction added a unique touch to the evening, making it all the more memorable. The audience's energy was infectious, responding enthusiastically to Daði's music and the playful banter with his sound technician, which introduced a running joke that made the night feel uniquely tailored and far from a generic concert experience. "Big Night Live,"being a newer venue, impressed with its exceptional acoustics and the welcoming attitude of its staff, contributing significantly to the positive atmosphere. The sound quality was outstanding, ensuring every note was heard perfectly. Additionally, the opening act, Blusher, was excellently chosen, warming up the crowd and setting the stage for what was to be a remarkable night. I would wholeheartedly recommend a Daði Freyr concert to anyone looking for a music event that's not just a performance but an experience—a night filled with laughter, music, and a sense of connection.
