About

Helmet-loving masters of house music Daft Punk made international waves with their ubiquitous 2013 hit  "Get Lucky," but the French duo have been one of the hottest tickets in dance music since their 1997 debut album Homework. With their fourth album, 2013's Random Access Memories, Daft Punk scored their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200, fueling much speculation about whether they would accompany the album with one of their legendary floor-thumping tours. The pair, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, rose to prominence and radio success in 2001 with the release of their second album Discovery -- dance floor anthem "One More Time" became a significant seller and US crossover hit, introducing the mysterious beat kings to legions of night clubbers around the world. Discovery would later have a resurgence thanks to Kanye West's 2007 rap hit "Stronger," which sampled the duo's robotic banger "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." In spite of the success of 2013's Random Access Memories, the duo kept mum about whether they would be giving the album the live concert treatment, keeping their ever-cultivated aura of mystery intact and giving fans something to look forward to in 2014.

    Amazing

by DBRoss on 6/10/112007 Summer Sonic - Tokyo, Japan

Having been to hundreds of concerts covering everything from country to electronic, Daft Punk's 2007 tour "Alive" was without any doubt the greatest and most intensely electrifying event I have been to. Leap at the chance to see them. Missing their show would honestly make me depressed for days. Favorite moment: Thousands of fans with their hands in the air chanting, "Television... rules the nation" as Daft Punk began to spin then suddenly we hear "Around the world" mashed right over that track and everyone cheered so loudly and the room became so intense you didn't know whether you'd float away on the vibrations or get crushed underneath the mass of euphoria.
