About Country Thunder Music Festival

If not for Country Thunder, it would be impossible to catch concerts by 17 or 18 of the biggest country acts in the space of a single weekend. Just be glad the festival has you covered, bringing together a big batch of country music's best in one spot every year. Not only that if you're feeling ambitious, you can even repeat the experience multiple times in a single season by following the festival's tour to all five of its locations.

Country Thunder started in 1996 with festivals in Wisconsin and Arizona, and along the way they took it to Canada, adding annual stops in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Each event operates on a number of stages, with up-and-coming artists occupying the smaller ones and top-tier names performing on the main stage. In the past, Country Thunder has hosted headliners like Toby Keith, Chris Young, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Eric Church. In other words, the cream of the Nashville crop.

With the announcement of the 2019 schedule, Country Thunder expanded its reach even further. It dipped into the South, the cradle of country music, and offered a Florida stop for the first time.

The festival featured performances by Toby Keith, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, Chris Lane, Tracy Lawrence, Granger Smith, Lanco, Maddie & Tae, Restless Heart, and many others. Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Chris Stapleton, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, and Trace Adkins were announced among the artists at the other locations.

Even beyond the music, a big part of the Country Thunder experience is the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of places like Florence, Arizona; Craven, Saskatchewan; Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; and Calgary, Alberta. Multiple camping packages are available, from the most basic setup to the "glamping" option. Between the sounds and the settings, it's no wonder Country Thunder has been named Festival of the Year by the Academy of Country Music more than once.

it’s so awesome that country music, hockey and the province of Sask were able to come together for this to help the healing process. MC’s were entertaining.
