Excellent show and I dont even speak French . Her band was great and her new music was really good. Only problem was she didn’t sing any of her old covers which I missed.

    Charlotte Rocked and Rolled

by NateDeeOhDoubleGee on 4/26/10Webster Hall - New York

Charlotte Gainsbourg owned. She controlled the stage with a magnetic stage presence that had nothing ot do with her celbrity status and all to do with her charming timorousness, killer covers (Dylan, Serge), and straight up intimately beautiful songs. The crowd left Charlotte with rousing applause after each song which she clearly had heartfelt appreciation for, and at several points during the show her eyes welled up with tears. With this kind of emotion coupled with great music, how can a show go wrong?

    Charlotte was soooo prety

The band was fantastic, but the music was too loud for her voice.

Charlotte even more remarkable in person

by delarocha on 4/26/10Webster Hall - New York

Watching Charlotte Gainsbourg performing live on stage is sort of like watching an aspiring high school drama student come out of her shell for the first time. At least for now. She lacked a bit of stage confidence, but that's exactly what made the show so wonderfully special. That, and the fact that her children were in the audience to share in the magic of the momentous wrap-up for her first ever tour. Her sometimes awkward shyness and self consciousness proved to be warm and adorable, albeit surprising to me; considering she's the daughter of French music icon Serge Gainsbourg and famed actress Jane Birkin. I, for one, hope she remains this grounded as she matures as an artist. I'd also love to see a live show with her and Beck performing some of her mood-bending tunes together. I highly recommend seeing Charlotte Gainsbourg if you can.

Charlotte started the show with her natural shyness. However, as the show went on, she relaxed and gave us a rather good rendition of her last Album and some of the songs from 5:55. The band was excellent and provided a good support for her multi-influenced songs. This was a great show.

    Charlotte on her own terms

by CHRISLNY on 4/26/10Webster Hall - New York

I was pleasantly surprised. She sounded exactly like on her albums. Great band with her. And she has created her own sound and pop bearing such an overwhelming prestigious name. I love the two covers she did of two of her father's songs. She needs to be less shy on stage though. A really nice evening. The opening act of AM was also very cool.

    i love char

by amberthefair on 4/26/10Webster Hall - New York

charlotte was so precious! i'm so glad i went to see her. i wish the sound people had balanced everything out. she has such a soft voice that sometimes the other musicians drowned her out. there was just too much bass and drums at times. work on those levels sound people! when char sang songs that were minimal she sounded fantastic. her voice isn't perfect, but it is so pure and sincere! i love all of the songs she chose for the show.
