Carolina Panthers Team History

The Carolina Panthers became the 29th National Football League franchise on October 26, 1993. They played their inaugural season in 1995, finishing 7-9 and setting an all-time best opening season record for an NFL expansion team. They also beat the San Francisco 49ers in their inaugural season, becoming the first expansion team to defeat a reigning Super Bowl champion in their first year of play.

Since their start, the Panthers have won six division titles, including three consecutive NFC South division titles from 2013-15 under coach Ron Rivera. The Panthers have made it to the playoffs eight times, winning two NFC Championships and appearing in the Super Bowl twice. Under coach Rivera, they made four playoff appearances in a five-year span from 2013–2017, tying Green Bay and Seattle for the most NFC playoff appearances during that time. In that five-year span, the Panthers recorded 51 wins, the most in any five-year period in franchise history, and tied for fifth-most in the NFL.

Their first Super Bowl appearance was in 2004 for Super Bowl XXXVIII, then Super Bowl 50 in 2016, following what was the Panthers’ most dominant season to date, going 15-1 with quarterback and MVP Cam Newton.

    PANTHERS COME ON

by bigpanthersfan3 on 9/21/23Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte

Increased ticket prices, increased beer prices, increased food prices, and decreased performance on the field. Was extremely frustrating to watch these last two games. I hate that I am a PSL owner and sadly will part ways with it, because our team and owner do not seem like they care about the fans or have any desire to win any games. Was so hard to watch and is the Matt Rhule era all over again (or maybe just the continuation of the David Tepper era).

I was so happy to be there. The experience was so special to be there. The staff was so helpful to us. They guided us to our handicap seats. So grateful for them. My husband and I was so close to the field .I was surprised how big it was. 1st time the being there will never forget it.

    Need less media

    by Quinn on 8/18/23

Had media personnel blocking views for children. And being rude and disrespectful. Very unprofessional ppl working the gates and the whole venue. Not enough vendors to accommodate the crowd. Left early. After driving hours.

    My first time.

    by Angela Kelley on 8/16/23

This is the first time I've ever seen a pro football practice. And I must say the experience was excellent. I would recommend going to one.

    Panthers or Kittens

    by Lolli on 8/16/23

Enjoyed watching them practice a couple of times. They done pretty good. But done terrible on their first pre-season game against the Jets. I tried to get an autograph on my first grandson (born this year) Panthers onesie from Bryce Young at the training camp. I was right there at him & followed him as far as I could but he didn’t autograph it. I was told that he only autographs for kids. So don’t know if he thought I bought that Panthers onesie on purpose to get his autograph. My son-n-law (not from the Carolina’s) is pulling for the Panthers now bc of Bryce Young. So I wanted to give the onesie to him as a surprise gift for his first born. Maybe next year. Hopefully the Panthers will pull it together for a good season. Prayers for a safe season. Win or Lose….Proud to be a Panthers Fan

    by Mark on 8/14/23

Parking too expensive. Distance to stadium too far from parking. Everything inside the stadium was too expensive and way overrated.

    Training Camp

    by JW on 8/13/23

Training Camp is something I’ve attended now faithfully for over 10 years. We lost two years with COVID and after the change in ownership there was a lot of concern regarding whether it would remain an option, and I’m glad it was, but this year had a significantly different feeling. This year instead of the normal group of panthers security, an outside group was brought in, as someone who has worked in law enforcement nearly 9 years I’m familiar with these type of event staffing companies, but never in my time of working with these groups professionally, or attending an event have I ever encountered so many rude people. Multiple days, multiple people were excessively rude, patronizing and slow when processing fans into the gates. There’s simply no reason, while interacting with one and asking very simple questions that a yes or no answer would suffice, I was often met with sarcasm and simply unprofessional behavior. I rarely leave reviews but I think it bears consideration that these are the people who make the first impression anytime a fan comes to the stadium and if it’s like mine was for multiple days, it’s going to be a negative experience.

    Don't do it...

    by Amir on 8/13/23

Unless you live very close to Spartanburg, do NOT attempt to go to a Panthers practice. After driving a few hours to get to Wofford College, the practice was cancelled about 45 min prior to start time. So it was a complete waste of my time; cancelling the practice due to weather seems odd, given that NFL teams play in bad weather.

    Disappointed

    by Bubba on 8/13/23

No practice held near fans . The music was not family friendly. Only positives were free admission & parking.

    Good experience

    by FFdadof3 on 8/13/23

Good time with the family for a cheap night out. Only thing I wish I'd have known, when I bought what I thought was front row. I was unaware that there was more seats in front of me.

    Overall Satisfied

    by MicroPenisPanthersFan on 8/13/23

There was a pretty large size crowd that showed up but it felt like there was a lot of space to move around. The lines moved rather quickly. Only negative I got was on this hot Saturday you couldn't ever get ice at the soda machines because it was always all gone, maybe fix that some how and you got a great experience.

    Hot, but Worth It

    by Jazzmon on 8/12/23

My first Panthers training camp and I was able to have an amazing view of the guys. Completely in the sun, but my tan is nice. After practice I was able to get my jersey signed by Ickey E and I’m still on cloud 79 😍 Overall, great experience.

    Chaos

    by Jkw on 8/12/23

Sounds for parking we’re all full. Take you to the area, but it was already full. Security was just chilling on golf carts not doing Jack went through metal detectors. That part was a joke. Overall felt like a kids birthday party thrown together at the last minute.
