Rapper Cal Scruby is known for a laid-back cadence and lyrics highlighting dreams, ambition and confidence.
He started his career in an audio recording studio at Ohio State University, also known as "the whisper room," during a study break. Scruby's first single, "Best Foot Forward," was released in 2011 and was recorded during one of his "whisper room" sessions.
Scruby signed with Riveting Entertainment and released his first EP, House in the Hills, in 2015. The EP included the hit single "Ain't Sh*t Changed" featuring Chris Brown, and the song's video has over 10 million views on YouTube. After parting ways with Riveting Entertainment, he released Unsigned, his first project as an independent artist, in 2019. In 2020, he released the album While You Were Sleeping, which features the hit single "Money Buy Drugs." His next big hit came with the single "Faster" off his EP titled [Part 2]. He followed up with another album Casino in 2022.

Cal Scruby (pronounced "scrooby") is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Kings High School in Cincinnati in 2008, and he graduated from Ohio State with a degree in communications. Scruby got his start in music after seeing Jay-Z perform a concert at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio when he was a sophomore in high school. The experience inspired him to begin a career as a rapper.
