Caetano, now 81 years old looks much younger physically and mentally. He is a genius of Brazilian Popular Music. His songs transcend Brazilian roots and fit into Latinity below the Equator's Line.
I’ve loved Caetanos work for a long time but never had the opportunity to see him live and as expected he didn’t disappoint! I’m in awe of him !
Caetano Veloso and the musicians who performed with him were nothing short of amazing. It was an honor to witness the final show of his US farewell tour. That being said, I was really disappointed with the venue. As you walked in to your seat, there were signs in three languages saying that late arrivals would only be seated between songs. However, ushers were continuously seating people at least half an hour into the show, and people were chatting as they stood waiting to be seated, which caused already-seated people to express their frustrations to ushers, etc. It was almost impossible to focus on the performance itself for a good chunk of the time. The venue is visibly aged but I suppose you can say it adds to the charm. I just wish the posted seating policy had been respected.
The show was spectacular - what I could hear, that is. This venue is old and the design does not work for live shows in this day and age. The last 10 rows or so of the "orquestra"seata are below a mezzanine opening. The floor above is outside the seating area and has bathrooms and hallways. Therefore, during the entire show we could hear people talking outside the bathrooms and doors leading into the balcony seats, and then, even worse, the bathroom hand dryers came on. The loud sound of the dryers drowned out Cartano's beautiful voice. I have never been so distracted or frustrated with a venue. Those seats should not even be for sale. They are truly terrible for acoustics.
Last Saturday April 13th, Caetano Veloso gifted Boston Area with the very well-produced concert tour “Meu Coco”. As a Legendary of the Brazilian Music, surrounded by a great band led by the great producer Lucas Nunes. It was just a historical night of excitement, diversity of repertoire and the ice on the cake: the Mastery of Caetano - the bridges he builds between South America North and Caribbean!!

Caetano Veloso's concert was a lot of fun. I was not familiar with the songs in the same way the rest of the mostly Brazilian audience was. They had an amazing party in the aisles and near the stage. Their energy was infectious. We enjoyed ourselves and were happy to hear a legend of Tropicalismo on the stage.
Caetano is a phenomenon of Brazilian popular music. Singer, poet, a rare gem.
The show was excellent, Caetano has a flair for showmanship and understands what the public wants to see, he is an awesome singer and time flies while he is on stage, he sang new and old songs to please everyone.
