About

CABARET’s famed ‘Kit Kat Club’ is returning to Sydney for a strictly limited season! A new Australian revival of one of the world’s most beloved musicals, experience the decadence of CABARET at Hayes Theatre Co from 9 January 2017.

Starring the mesmerising Paul Capsis as Emcee; the leading lady of musical theatre Chelsea Gibb as Sally Bowles and the incredible Marcus Graham as Ernst Ludwig, CABARET’s much loved songs and piercing message will ensure a wonderful and meaningful night out at the theatre.

With the brilliant Kate Fitzpatrick as Fräulein Schneider, the eminent John O’May as Herr Schultz and the popular Debora Krizak as Fräulein Kost, the talented cast also includes Jason Kos as Clifford Bradshaw, Michelle Barr as Fritzi, Nick Jones as Victor, Matthew Manahan as Gottfried and Michelle Smitheram as Helga.

Winner of 12 Tony Awards, 8 Academy Awards and 7 BAFTA’s, CABARET wows audiences and critics alike time and time again. Fifty years ago the original Broadway production made a household name of Joel Grey while just two years later an unassuming Judi Dench stole the show on London’s West End. Arguably the most iconic movie musical of all time, renowned director Bob Fosse made Liza Minnelli a silver screen star.

Based on The Berlin Stories by renowned author Christopher Isherwood, CABARET celebrates the sexual freedom and social liberation of 1930s Berlin. CABARET, adapted into musical form by Kander and Ebb, became Isherwood’s semi-biographical portrait of life on the edge.

wonderful show. great actors and dancers

by Margie Bostick on 11/2/22Constans Theatre - Gainesville

It was amazing and entertaining. Went to be entertained and was entertained. But to bring in political ideals was a disappointment. Didn't know why that was done. It would not change any minds. Would not say anything new. Everyone knows the issues and ideas already. It was only there to be divisive and to divide. Can't think of why else it was done. It would have been lovely for all to be together to be entertained and be as of one mind for one moment in time. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars plus.

    ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE

by Mitch on 10/30/22Constans Theatre - Gainesville

A very cohesive and engaging show with a personal twist bringing in events closer to present day similar the Holocaust giving it a unique weight. The production crew outdid themselves, the choreography, lighting, costumes, set/props, and sound were professional and added so much the already incredible talent of the performers. I really enjoyed the show, congrats to all involved. Beautifully heart-renching.

I thought the cast did an amazing job! The choreography was spectacular and it was executed flawlessly. The performers and directors should be proud! I could tell a lot of effort had been put into rehearsals.

Shea's is a great theatre complex

by Weekend in Buffalo on 6/21/22Shea's Smith Theatre - Buffalo

Intimate small theater with audience in middle of performance. For a local theatre group it was very competent, enthusiastically preformed and highly entertaining.
