These 3 intimate NYC shows at Gramercy Theatre were incredible. Watching Billy Corgan playing acoustic guitar and singing his songs alone on stage was an unforgettable experience - a true artist is he.
Billy Corgan put on a great solo show, but the crowd was full of hecklers and talkers. It was hard to enjoy the music with constant rude interruptions from the crowd. He had to stop many times to address them. The bar area is too loud and it carries to the front of the stage. The chairs are too close together and the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat in. I traveled far to come to the show and was very disappointed.
The theatre had chairs. They were packed tightly and tied together. If you are sitting next to someone average sized or bigger, expect to battle for space all night. If the person is large or overweight, there will definitely be some encroachment on the play! Unfortunately, that was my experience. Consequently, it was also very hot. Billy played well and sounded great on the acoustic and piano. The first half of the show were all non-pumpkin songs. In retrospect, I would not have bought tickets for this event.
