The advertising for this event was very misleading. It said “Billboard Women in Music-Tems” which led us to believe that we were going to a concert. It was an okay experience but we will not be going again.
Overall nice event, but some of the acceptance speeches went way too long. Performances were great … Would be nice to have access to red carpet area to view the guests waking in
I was initially drawn to this event due to my Spotify concert recommendations advertising it as a Kylie Minogue solo concert. No other artist was mentioned and neither was Billboard. If one see's an ad that specifically says "Kylie Minogue March 6th at the YouTube Theater,"one would expect it to be a performance of some sort right? Nowhere in the description did it mention that it was an award show. Spotify and Ticketmaster need to fix the ways they advertise shows because turns out, Kylie was not even one of the performing artists, just an honoree. Being an honoree at an award show is not the same thing as a solo performance, which is how Spotify and Ticketmaster labeled it. Stop advertising events as performances of artists when they're really not.
seen lana del rey getting her recognition and her speech was so awesome.
Everyone in our party and much of the audience thought Lana Del Rey was going to perform at the YouTube Theater. The advertising was implied this. Refunds should have been issued.
Great performance from the best woman! Congratulations to all the woman who received awards this year. Especially Twice!!
I loved the event and thought that it was very interactive and I understand ad placements for sponsors but damn the whole thing felt like an ad! Other than that it was beautiful and I'm very happy with the celebration of women in music, although for future reference maybe don't bring out a popular male musician to announce an award for the woman winning, considering he got more applause than most of the women who won awards. I guess that's not technically reflective of the event coordinators but of the fans in the audience. I also would just like to point out that in the email sent by Ticketmaster, several artists were supposed to "perform" however many of them just gave speeches. I'm not too disappointed by not seeing performances because I loved listening to the speeches and watching everyone interact with each other but I definitely think it falls into a false advertisement to send out an email naming certain artists as "performers" knowing they would only be taking the stage to accept their awards.
Overall great time great food drinks and photo opps
