Bad Company on Tour

The band that helped define hard rock in the 1970s, Bad Company remains one of the most exciting purveyors of the heaviest of sounds. The incomparable voice of Paul Rodgers may be the biggest reason for the enduring power of Bad Company classics like "Feel Like Makin' Love" and "Rock ‘n' Roll Fantasy."

The latest chapter in the history of this British rock institution began when the surviving original members reconvened in 2008. Revitalizing a repertoire drawn from such hit albums as 1974's Bad Company and 1976's Run With the Pack, Rodgers earned Bad Company a new generation of fans with the help of co-founder and drummer Simon Kirke — who'd originally joined the frontman in the British rock band Free — and two more recent recruits in longtime Heart guitarist Howard Leese and bassist Todd Ronning.

Bad Company's summer 2019 tour includes two concerts with Lynyrd Skynyrd, who were their tourmates for a joint 40th Anniversary Tour in 2013 and The Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour in 2018.

Bad Company Background

Of all the rock supergroups of the ‘70s, Bad Company had the most unbeatable pedigree. Formed in 1973, the band combined the powerhouse team of vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke — both of Free, the rockers behind "All Right Now" — with Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs and King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell. Under the guidance of legendary Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant, the new band quickly became one of the biggest acts in rock.

Released in 1973, Bad Company's multiplatinum self-titled debut boasted a blues-based sound that was undeniably heavy yet just as remarkable for the players' agility and the songs' R&B swagger. It inaugurated an incredible run that continued with four more hit albums and such hit singles as "Bad Company," "Feel Like Makin' Love," and "Rock ‘n' Roll Fantasy."

After the original lineup splintered in 1982, Rodgers would find success as the leader of The Paul Rodgers Band and as a creative partner for his friend Jimmy Page in The Firm. The reunion of all four members at Peter Grant's funeral led to new recordings and new tours between 1999 and 2002. In the wake of the singer's hugely successful collaboration with Brian May and Roger Taylor in Queen + Paul Rodgers, Bad Company was relaunched in 2008 and continues to make good on its heavy-duty reputation.

    BC IN LYNN

Bad Company was a good show. The band sounds great and they nailed it out of the park. Its nice to see these acts playing in small venues like the Auditorium in Lynn.

    Emotional, Rockin’ & Intimate

    by S. D. on 8/27/19Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

At over 70 Paul Rogers still has it. Not anything like the disappointment of Mike Love at the Lowell Summer Music Series a few nights prior. Simon Kirk stole the show with his unbelievable performance on the skins. Wearing a sleeveless Bad Co. t-shirt, he had the muscle tone of a 30 year old. All in all it was a beautiful walk down kick ass memory lane and the setting of Lynn Memorial Auditorium is a sensual experience of days gone by. I don’t know what happened to the spirit popular musicians once had but, after seeing Steve Miller, Heart and Bad Co. this summer, no one can touch them today.

    Great concert

by Patti on 8/26/19Twin River Event Center - Lincoln

Paul Rogers did not disappoint. They sounded great! Plus the seats were great. I wish we could had a little more security in our row to keep people from piling to the front to use their phones to take pictures. Can't say I blame them, but a fewer people at a time would have been better.

Paul Rodgers sounded great and was charming and engaging with the audience. Being row 2 pit didn’t hurt either!

    We will be back!

by Bedelia on 8/26/19Twin River Event Center - Lincoln

Twin Rivers was easy to find, there was plenty if parking, it was easy to get in, get our concert shirts and find our seats. The sound system needs improvement! We sat in the front row of a section. The aisle barely accomodated people walking either way and the amount of foot traffic was distracting. Maybe hold up the foot traffic as much as possible while the band is performing? All in all a great concert!! :-)

    Like Old Times

by BV on 8/26/19Twin River Event Center - Lincoln

Bad Company was good ! Show was only 90 minutes though. Paul Rodgers voice ok but he had the audience singing a lot of his songs vs him. The venue was not good though. Small cramped seats and every seat flat on the floor.

    Good Experince

by Chuck on 8/26/19Twin River Event Center - Lincoln

This was my wife and I's first time at Twin River Event Center. The venue was good, however, it would have been better if the seats were not on the same level since most people in front of us stood for the majority of the concert and blocked our view. Bad Company put on a solid but not spectacular performance.

    Bad Co @ Twin Rivers

by Annie on 8/26/19Twin River Event Center - Lincoln

The band was awesome! Saw them 40 years ago, and they were just as good as ever. Paul Rogers' voice has stood the test of time, and is still amazing. The venue, although extremely convenient as it is close by, easy to get to, easy to park at, etc, left a lot to be desired. Sound quality was fine, but the seating was awful. Everything is on one level, so unless your are 6' tall or sitting in the front row, you can't see anything. They do have big screens to look at, which is good, but it would be better to have seating that gradually raises as it goes back, so everyone can see. The chairs are tiny and uncomfortable, placed so close together that you are rubbing legs with your neighbor all night, which is rather awkward if you didn't go to the show with them. Space between rows is also very limited, making it very inconvenient when other people in your row want to get in and out. Standing up to let them by does not work, as there's no room. No place to move your legs to let them by either. You almost have to put your feet up on the chair, which is difficult in such close quarters, or everyone in the row has to get up and go out into the aisle and them back in again. The entrance where the event center is located is adjacent to the part of the casino where smoking is allowed. Although there are closed doors on the smoking allowed casino, the smell of cigarette smoke hits you like a ton of bricks when you enter the lobby or when you come down from the second floor, and if you spend five minutes or more in line or waiting in the lobby, you already stink of cigarette smoke on your clothes and hair, it's gross. They need a better ventilation system if they are going to allow smoking. Seemed like there was very little security in the whole place in general, no checking of bags when entering the event center casino. With all the recent violence in the news at concerts, etc., it would seem as if there would be a bit more beefed up security at this location. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms, so A+ on that. To sum up, enjoyed the concert thoroughly, but the venue needs improvement.

Love the show, didn't like the venue

by llfoss on 8/26/19Twin River Event Center - Lincoln

I really enjoyed the band oh, this was the first time I saw them live and I feel like I rediscovered them, I have been listening to that songs now for the last couple of days since I saw the show... However, I did not like the twin River event Center, it's basically a ballroom with regular table chairs lined up too close together leaving no elbow room between chairs/rows
