    Great show but lotsa empties

Great great performers. Small but enthusiastic crowd. Scheduled vs the Travers and college returning and family vacations poor choice. Would do much better later in the year. Excellent skaters

    Aurora Games Gymnastics

by BEANSIE on 8/25/19Times Union Center - Albany

The exhibition was fantastic overall for the first one! There was some 'down time ' between the Parkour and Aesthetic Dancing that could have been hyped up with t-shirt launcher. Maybe a little more audience interaction: they did a noise contest to move a member closer to the floor and throw out some towels. Since it was gymnastics (which got the loudest when they performed) they could have called a few select girls to do a handstand contest to win something like a Kaitlyn Ohashi gymnastics suit or Aurora Games hat and also had a trivia contest of sorts based Olympic winners who organized the event and that person could have won a signed by Olympians Aurora Games Tshirt!!! Just a few inexpensive but memorable things to add on‼

    Positive & Uplifting

by D on 8/24/19Times Union Center - Albany

The Aurora Games gymnastic competition was a great event that exemplified how a sporting event can have a positive impact on kids regardless of who wins or loses. Young girls saw the athletes cheer all the competitors on and offer each other encouragement. It was great to hear the young girls in the audience responding to the positive interactions of the athletes. The athletes were all smiles and energy and they were truly the best. I hope these games become a yearly event.

Awesome gymnastics between all the waiting

by Coach Scott on 8/24/19Times Union Center - Albany

The gymnasts and parkour athletes were phenomenal at this event. They were very talented and they did a great job interacting with the crowd, keeping everyone involved and taking the time to sign autographs for the young fans. However, the event lasted 3 hours and literally could have been done in one or less, had it not been for the excessive amount of waiting and down time between every performance. Regardless of the reason for the waiting, it took away from the otherwise excellent quality of the event.

    Not quite what we expected

by LH on 8/24/19Times Union Center - Albany

Firstly, the venue is very lacking and I should always remember that. The seating is horribly uncomfortable. I'm not all that big of a person, but with the cup holders on both arms of the seats, I actually had to turn sideways getting in and out of the seat, they are so narrow and I'm only 5' 6-1/2" tall and my knees hit the back of the seat in front of us. As to the event, we watched gymnastics. The tumbling on the long mats was okay, the balance beam was much better, but they had some ridiculous event that looked like an obstacle course that used huge rectangular elevated mats, assorted uneven bars and a wooden wall like would be used in military training. The first round was a timed course (and it appeared the course could be changed by the participant) and the second was a point system for artistic performance. We did not enjoy this part of the event, it was nothing like you imagined a gymnastics competition would be like. They had no vaulting and no uneven bars competitions. Most participants wore baggy shirts. I really wanted to see the floor exercises, but the weird competition just went on and on and it was getting late and we had an early morning the next day, so we left without seeing it. We wanted to support the Aurora games, but this was disappointing. My husband said he would not want to go next year but I told him that it wasn't going to be here next year, which I guess is a good thing.

It was a fun event. The problem was, there was no food available at the venue and you couldn’t bring food in. We were starving

    Fantastic!

by LB6 on 8/23/19Times Union Center - Albany

I attended the first night of tennis. We had great seats and the environment was so fun and fan friendly. Even the players couldn't contain themselves. 😆 Overall, great event that deserves better attendance. Let's go Ladies!

    Aurora Games at the TU--Tennis

by Lynn on 8/23/19Times Union Center - Albany

Disappointed in low attendance. My seats were good and comfortable. The tennis was good, although I felt they were more "having fun" than competing to win. Very disappointed in concessions offered. Food was limited as was drinks--beer and hard cider only--no wine.
