BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Courtney Act, aka Shane Jenek, was born in Brisbane but moved to Sydney at age 18 to pursue a career in entertainment. It was there that he invented his alter ego Courtney Act, a pun on the phrase “caught in the act” as pronounced with an Australian accent. As Courtney Act, Jenek reached the semifinals of the 2003 season of Australian Idol, becoming a household name there thanks to his provocative persona and incredible voice. He made his recording debut as Courtney Act the following year with the single “Rub Me Wrong”, a Top 40 hit on the ARIA Singles Chart. Over the next decade Act was a constant fixture on Australian television, and in 2014 she was accepted to Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Since finishing as runner-up on the show, Act has toured extensively and released several popular singles including “American Apparel Ad Girls”, a Top 10 hit on the US Comedy Digital chart.
