About

There is a moment where every artist decides that it is best to create music based on instinct rather than expectation. For PVRIS, a three-piece rock band from Boston, that moment came during their conception. The trio formed in the studio while making songs for a previous project and realized that they needed to collectively eschew any preconceived idea of what music should be. “It occurred to us that we should just make whatever we want and not worry about fitting into the local scene,” Lynn says. “Our vision was whatever we felt like doing. It was about making what we felt like making in the moment.”

That vision has manifested itself into PVRIS’s debut album White Noise, which follows an acoustic EP that came out in April of 2014. The album is its own entity, a collection of dynamic, surging rock songs that combine the musicians’ collective influences and inspirations. The band has continually fostered an interest in electronic music and hoped to organically bring those sounds into their pop-tinged rock numbers. “We knew we wanted to go in a more electronic direction on the album,” Lynn says. “We had that vision but we had no clue how it would actually sound. We let the music find itself.”

PVRIS, who has toured the U.S. several times in the past few years and played Warped Tour in the summer of 2014, have reimagined their live set-up to reflect the album. Ultimately, PVRIS wants to make music that is their own. Without expectation, the musicians have songs that give something important to their audience – whatever that may be.

“I hope people can take anything they desire away from this record,” Lynn says. “It can be anything. We made the music because we loved it and now it can belong to everyone else.”

    Expectation Killers

    by Jacob on 9/4/23

Pvris is one of those bands that you will never fully grasp how God like they are from their studio performances. As soon as Lynn came on stage she absolutely destroyed all of my expectations, literally the best show I've seen yet. Everything about their stage presence is on point, this experience is worth every single penny! Rock on PVRIS🤘

Great show, need electronic tickets all shows

by Neje on 8/30/21Neptune Theatre - Seattle

The show was amazing! Any issues I had are not worth dropping my rating below 5 stars. But others might feel differently. So I want to share my critique to help improve things as much possible. Due to the pandemic, my show date got pushed back a few times and to a a different venue. No problem. But the tickets said they needed to be picked up at will call. There was no normal ticket will call at the new venue, and because of the craziness of the pandemic, it was impossible to find out from anyone on what to do (things aren't staffed the way they were pre-pandemic). Ultimately, I went with blind faith, and it turned out they had a couple people with a clipboard and my name was on there. So it went smooth when it was finally go time. But the stress in the days leading up to the show could've been avoided. And by this, I just mean that every show from Ticketmaster should have a scan worthy electronic ticket. I couldn't even see my ticket in the Ticketmaster app anymore, and had to access it non-mobile/ desktop style. I assume some of this was due to it being past the original date of the show? The email from the artist (Pvris) definitely helped, because it confirmed I was in their system for the VIP stuff. Anyway, amazing show by Pvris, awesome iconic venue in The Showbox, and thank you as always to Ticketmaster for being the medium I favor when purchasing event tickets. On to the next adventure!

best intro back into live music

by kt on 8/27/21The Underground - Charlotte

While I have had some unsavory experiences at the music factory with security and staff, I believe they went above and beyond at this show. It was very comforting to know they were taking covid precautions as serious as possible, checking vax status and I even saw staff inside asking people to wear masks. This really helped me be able to relax and enjoy my experience as Delta is on the rise. I missed the underground and I couldn't imagine a better first show. Pvris sounded amazing the lights were awesome the venue was clean, it was a great experience

Everyone was kind and respectful. While checking for our COVID-19 vaccine cards everyone was patient and positive. All good vibes. The people working the event made sure it was clean and made everything to make sure we had a safe experience.
