Danny Tenaglia Tickets

This was my first time at HOB in Boston and by no fault of the artists, I couldn't help but feel slightly disconnected from the event. The sound was just awful in the beginning, which surprised me, as being a space that frequently hosts live acts, I would have expected more. It wasn't honestly until well into Danny's set, did things get sorted out, and given the fact that the quality of sound for this type of event is so essential to the music.... well it left me feeling a little 'blah'. Had I come only for this event, I would have left a little disappointed but the fact that I saw so many familiar faces from days past, it made up for what was lacking. I know the city of Boston for all the wonderful things it has to offer, presents certain limitations outside of one's hands in regards to closing times, ordering drinks (one at a time -- didn't know this existed) so I do not fault the organizers or the venue for this, but to truly enjoy a DT set, you need more than two hours. His sets are always more impactful when performing in slightly more intimate spaces -- and I felt this venue was too large for the number of people there. I do feel there was an opportunity missed here to bridge the gap between old clubbers (present) and the new generation (and their lack of presence) - a time to 'pass the baton' of sorts. This is something that can be rectified with a little bit more targeted marketing. In closing, had the sound been on point, I would have had a completely different experience, but that being said, I enjoyed catching up and sharing the dancefloor with old and new friends alike.
