About

MONUMENTS IN CONCERT:

British progressive metal rockers Monuments unleash a maelstrom of guttural screams, decibel-shattering riffs, and pummeling drums every time they take the stage. Their sound hits hard but it's also impressively nuanced, brimming with sonic details like insanely intricate drum patterns and guitars processed to sound like sitars and mandolins. Frontman Chris Barretto embodies the band's dynamic sound, singing soaring melodies moments before flipping the switch and issuing bone-crunching screams as the group lets loose. With plenty of epic guitar solos and head-banging energy on anthems like "Regenerate" and "I, The Creator", Monuments are a must-see for metal fans looking to rock hard.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Monuments was formed in 2007 as a side project of guitarists John Brown (Fellsilent) and Josh Travis (The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza). The band existed on the backburner for several years before signing to Century Media Records in 2012 and bringing on vocalist Matt Rose. Later that year they released their debut album Gnosis, a brilliant combination of hook-heavy and technically demanding prog metal that earned the band a loyal following. After touring Europe with bands like Born of Osiris and After the Burial, the band parted ways with Rose and brought on former Periphery vocalist Chris Barretto. The new lineup retreated to the studio and returned in 2014 with their sophomore album The Amanuensis. The record featured Monuments' most virtuosic and accessible material yet, and they've been tearing up on tour ever since.
