Kip is amazing
by Shurples on 10/2/17The Wonder Bar - Asbury ParkThere are no words. He has an amazing voice, knows how to work the crowd, especially the women, and is funny as heck. Still adore him.

Music, voice were unreal. This guy gets better with age. Very interactive with the fans also
By far, this is the best solo show I have ever seen! I have seen this show a few times and it's better each time! You get a little comedy with rock. When I first saw this solo show just over a year ago, I didn't expect it to be so laid back, funny and amazing! Kip makes you laugh and play music from Winger and his solo music! To see this show is to be in complete awe of this man's true talent and musical ability. Very different from a full on Winger show, but just as incredible. Kip takes the time to meet the fans (time permitting) and is just a sweet, down-to-Earth guy. Ever since that first show I have traveled to see him every chance I get and have been impressed each and every time. To say this man is underrated is an understatement! Just amazing! On top of it all, because this was a charity event, he donated a TON of Winger shirts to sell with all the proceeds going to the Akron Children's Hospital. Such a sweet guy!
As always his music is great, he's funny and very personable
I was in town from Colorado and was invited by an old friend. Awesome, intimate venue. Kip Winger's show isn't just a music act, it's an interactive, fun time. He's got a great sense of humor and made the event well worth the short time he was up there. I hope the charity did well!
Awesome show! He rocked the house! Would definitely see him again!
The show was great. Kip is an amazing performer with a wonderful personality. The venue was a beautiful theater which I would gladly go to again.
I took my wife to this show as a surprise for her birthday. She is a huge fan of this genre and truly appreciates a great show--and she LOVES Kip Winger! We have followed his career for a long time, and I was very excited to see him perform. As for my wife, she had no idea until we sat down. The Glass Cactus was a beautiful location! Unbelievable! The sound quality and acoustics were amazing--even Kip himself commented on it and complemented the sound crew by name. As for the show...WOW! "Its interactive, we'll talk together all night," he began, after pumping out a few bars and vocals on his first song, and then blasted back into it! The whole show as amazing. It was, as he advised, very interactive. He told stories of his past, events that happened to him on tours, and asked questions of the audience. He also recognized people that were in the audience from Rock Camp, and even invited members of the audience to perform a harmonic rendition of "Miles Away." Kip was alone, with a beautiful teal 12 string acoustic electric, and his powerful vocals. When you compare others of his genre today, it is amazing how perfect his voice still is. I believe he sounds even better now. He hardly needed a microphone; he was so powerful, always in pitch, and never faltering. Every song he played, even ones from his solo career that we had never heard before, were great. He played a longer set than expected, and responded to the chanting for an encore. After the show, he joined the crowd to shake hands, offer autographs, and take pictures. As I snapped the shot, my wife told him "You are my birthday present.” With a smile, he responded genuinely, "Well, happy birthday!" The picture is great; she got a kiss and was thrilled! I didn’t get a kiss, lol, but as a guitar player I was blown away. Kip’s career as a bassist is well known, but he is a talented musician all around! GREAT SHOW, DON'T MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE HIM PERFORM!!!!
I was really looking forward to this show since it is in such a nice, upscale place. The whole area, from the hotel to the venue is 5 star. The Glass Cactus is a beautiful, classy place. The view from the deck is amazing. The sound in there is top notch, even Kip commented on that. He was perfect as usual. I've seen him many times but would absolutely return to see him here again!
I have been a fan of Kip Winger since 1991 whenever I saw him sing the first time in person. He remains a great singer and guitarist. I loved the interaction with the audience. We had to leave right after he finished singing, so I do not know if he stayed to take any photos with any fans. I would have liked to have met him and to have had a picture taken with him. He, along with the group Winger is greatly underrated. I will always be a fan of Kip. I look forward to seeing Kip perform again solo OR with the group Winger. I do hope he comes back to the Dallas area again soon.
